Studying with the Melbourne School of Philosophy has been, and continues to be, a beautiful experience. My tutor, Robert, is down to earth, knowledgeable and caring – this is demonstrated in his passion for Philosophy and its application to daily life. Meeting with my group every week brings joy to my heart, this interactive experience truly allows for space to unpack, connect to our own life, and consider the perspective of others – on a range of philosophical topics. If you’re looking for a space to explore philosophy, its application to daily life, and make authentic connections (to yourSelf, and others), then sign up!!! Thank you SoP for staying true to the ancient teachings and guiding the path of wisdom, happiness and love.
I like the School of Philosophy because it presents a non-academic philosophy of life series of classes where you look at life’s big questions including ‘what’s it all about’? People meet in groups where camaraderie is quickly established and friendships are formed. Many people report a sense of ‘coming home’ when they first join the School as they have been searching for something of meaning and have finally found a place where they feel in sync with like-minded searchers. After all, it’s not every day you can have a discussion with someone about the big questions of life! There are no tests to pass I enjoy being part of an organization which is a friendly community where we meet regularly – and we even enjoy home-baked biscuits and cakes at times!
Philosophy begins in wonder – about the purpose and meaning of life and a myriad of other things. Explore the big questions with like minded people, share experiences, and enjoy the good company. It’s a rare opportunity to look deeply at yourself, toss out what doesn’t serve you, and become your best self.
Nice people in charge. Well run outfit. My only gripe is the program is a bit rigid, they could probably take it to the next level if the teachers were given more leeway to personalize the program to their own life experience.
Not that good. The group was poorly managed. I am sure there are better philosophy courses than this. Chris Ford must have been joking when he wrote his review here.
