“I’m not afraid anymore!”
– Edith, on her fear of the ocean, during a ferry ride with School of Wonder.

I could not be more thrilled with School of Wonder. My daughter Edith went for two days during Spring Break, then added a third after begging to go back. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her so activated. The theme of the week was Guardians of the Community; Edith came home each day beaming, sharing what she had learned about her impact on the world around her.

In the evening after day two, Edith and I were out for a walk when she chatted up two Human Society volunteers out collecting donations. When we got home, Edith looked up their website, counted her piggy bank, got me to match her donation, and then got my employer to match our donation. I have no doubt Edith’s activism and charity was directly attributable to School of Wonder.

Our daughter has attended various School of Wonder camps over the past two years (age 5 & 6) and absolutely loves it! Martha and her team do an absolutely incredible job transforming Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens into a true School of Wonder!

Unlike many of the other camps she has attended, our daughter would come home excited to tell us all about her day, the adventures they would go on and mysteries to solved. The School of Wonder really seemed to unlock their creative minds and allow them to enjoy and become closer to nature.

They also conveniently offer single day camps on those random school off days which is super helpful! If you are looking for a camp where you kid can be outside, enjoy nature, creatively take on projects and go on local adventures, I highly recommend them without hesitation.

A place where nature, art, imagination, art, adventure meet and connect in a place of wonder created by SCHOOL OF WONDER. It truly is a wonderful place. It is a place you want your children to experience. It is a place from books you might read to them from building that branch fort, jumping in puddles to even lightning up the forest with beautiful solar lights….. I do not want to give it all away but it is magical.
