Buyer beware!! This company is a complete scam. They do not let you cancel once you enroll for their “4 weeks free” program. The website shows a page to call them when you click on the cancel button

You’ll speak to a representative who then gives you all the reasons why you shouldn’t cancel. Even though you say I want to cancel they then say they’ll give you extra time to try it out. But mislead you into having them automatically charged you once the term has ended. They do not notify you prior to charging you.

Once I saw the charge (within 48 hrs of the charge), I tried calling them to only receive an automated service with no option to request a refund — only to cancel (w/o a refund).

I emailed them and they responded to ask what time I would be available to talk. On March 30, a rep named Terry called (not at the time I noted I was available) and despite of request for a refund he said that I authorized them to charge me from a recorded conversation that they don’t let you listen to. He said that he couldn’t give me a refund. Then he said half a refund and I became infuriated by the manipulation and hung up.

After that, I’ve been trying to get a hold of them since March to terminate and get my refund. Another rep named Wang emailed asking what time to call me. I responded. They never called the times that I’ve listed and I have continued to email requesting someone to resolve this ongoing charade. No response what so ever throughout this period.

My credit card company said that I need to get as much evidence as I can so they can investigate and they’ll contact Shaw Academy to release the money that they charged.

It seems like it’ll be an obstacle but from what I’m reading on other people’s reviews it looks like we need some sort of class action lawsuit.

I signed up for a free 4 week trial in March, attended one class and I didn’t care for it so I didn’t attend any more lessons. A month later, I got charged $59.99. They signed me up for a Premium Membership without telling me. I called to cancel. Yesterday I noticed on my bank statement I was charged again, only to realize they’ve taken 4 $59.99 charges from my card!! For a membership I didn’t sign up for and that I cancelled!! That is $239.96 that they’ve stolen from me!?? Shaw Academy is just a bunch of thieves! May I also mention that the reason I didn’t notice the other charges right away is because even though they had both my email address and phone number THEY DIDNT NOTIFY ME FOR A CHARGE AT ALL. They slyly stole my money knowing they were going under my nose by ignoring my cancellation and not notifying me when they charged my account. I hate them so much and will stop at nothing to get my money back because that’s almost $250 GONE.
