As a 6th grader moving on to 7th, I have been through 3 years of this school let me tell you. I have been a troublemaker in my past, but the principal at the time right now (Renee Parker) does favorite students. Doing my troublesome things in the past and improving you can start to notice how she’ll always expect you not anyone else but you to get in trouble. Besides, the staff here are really irresponsible for example, the current P.E Teacher, (Alec Doseman) yells at kids telling them to think for no regards what so ever. But I also have had great experiences here too, two of my teachers (4th and 6th grade) 4th being Mrs. Jackman and 6th Alyssa Sherry incredibly nice teachers with great attitudes. 5th grade was a bit worse with Ms. Young, she screams at kids with yet again no regards and always is rude to you even when you’re nice to her. I have made some really good friends here and still am friends with a lot. but may I just say the lunch here is terrible. under-cooked burgers, overcooked sausages when you have brunch there, and superbly rude lunch-ladies. Anyways, this school claims to be an A+ School getting that award in 2015 but now is a B- school 2016-2018. There’s also a lot of fighting that goes on here, bullying, stealing, bad sportsmanship, and a lot of arguments. This school is a very good school at sometimes and sometimes it’s at its worse. thank you for reading – from the now 7th grader Austin Woods, goodbye.
I love this school… I get a boundary exception.. Principal Parker is so involved with my girls everyday school day. The teachers are amazing. My oldest daughter is very smart catches on to everything and likes to be challenged. All of her teachers have been great at this. My youngest daughter is a little more challenging. She is more of a hands on learner and needs to be shown how to do so. I feel like this school exspects a lot of my girls and the teachers help them along the way. I can text my children’s teacher when ever and they always text back in a timely manner. Even with issues at home and struggles with my girls the teachers are willing to help with to make sure my children have the best day. Office staff can I just saying there is a lady named Deborah should be all knowing… She is amazing so friendly knows everyone’s name and amazing…. The kindergarten teachers are an amazing group that all seem to get along and are friends. Ms Hannah no longer there (heart breaking she retired) one of my daughter’s had I will forever be greatful getting my youngest off to a great start. I don’t think that I have met one staff member I haven’t like down to the friendly crossing gaurds. My last child my son starts school next year and I can’t wait to see how his life will be molded by this amazing school staff! It’s an amazing school I plan for all three of my kids to attend all seven school years.
After my child (kindergartener) informed me of being bullied, I immediately addressed the situation. The teacher seemed very cooperative to help restore my child’s faith in the school and contacted the principal in regards to the matter at hand. However, the principal was not so cooperative. She cornered my child, told her that the whole bully thing was a dream, and contacted me only after the interrogation of my child had been had. She informed me that my child retracted her statements of being bullied when my 6 year old said “maybe, I don’t know!” After speaking to my child, my child said she asked for me, was scared of the principal, and knows it happened, but was being cornered by the principal and her bully to retract her statement. It was only after she was in tears and forced to say it all happened in a dream that she was released back to class and I was notified of the occurance! Needless to say, this school has NO anti-bullying policy beside to make the victim feel like they have nobody to turn to at this school. The whole time during the conversation with the principal, she was rude, laughed at the situation, and told me to handle my child. Shame on this school!!!
