Today I would like to recognize the guidance counselor, Ms. Jackson. I shared with her some of my concerns in regards to mental health, I was not worried, just wanted to bring it to her attention. Not only did she handle the concern I had, after speaking with my child, she made him feel as if she was concerned and allowed him to trust her enough to come if he needed her at anytime. This is what I call having an open door policy. She is remarkable and proved to me that especially during times like these, we need to make sure our village is readily available for our children today. Kudos go out to you Ms. Jackson and I respect you wholeheartedly for acting upon my concern in a timely manner. Keep up the great work and remember, it takes a village to raise our children and I am excited you are part of it.
The school itself isn’t bad. The food could use a little work but, online class gotta go. Honestly i have tried many times to log on after they changed how we log on and it’s just not working. They should have left it how it was and it stresses me out how online class works us as students don’t learn a thing anymore it’s like we log on get an assignment and work on it and the thing these teachers don’t get is that if everyone gives us work everyday we can’t always get it all done in time. Also i have had multiple headaches just overthinking the work we get shouldn’t we all be in quarantine mode.So the school itself is a save learning environment but online class is really putting a lot of pressure on us students.
I have 2 children who currently attend Somerset Prep and 2 more who will attend in the Fall. I love the Kinder-12th grade layout. All 4 of my children are in one location which makes for easy mornings! The children love knowing that a brother or sister is nearby. One of my children is Special Needs. It is great that he will have the same ESE Specialist and Counselor for his whole school experience, instead of having to adapt to new people at the change from elem to middle and middle to high. The Administration is very parent and child friendly and supportive.
