Both of my children went to South County Montessori for many years and it had such a critical influence on my children’s social, emotional and intellectual development. The teachers, many who have been teaching at this school for decades, are amazing! They provide the structure and nurturing environment that is needed and they always go out of their way to make sure that your needs are being met. My children were always so happy to go to school that when I came to pick them up, they never wanted to leave. They provide enough time for children just to be playing outside in nature, exploring the world while teaching children how to be autonomous, respectful and curious. Our time at SCMS was truly special, we felt part of a community with wonderful director, staff and parents. I would not hesitate for one second to send my children to this school- I wish my kids were young again so they could go back!
The moment I stepped into SCMS, I knew this would be the extended home for my children. The classrooms are welcoming, cozy, and full of sensory play, diverse literature, and engaging math and science areas. The outdoor playground is beautiful and something the children enjoy using several times throughout the day.
I cannot say enough amazing things about SCMS’s director, Jen, and the teachers. The teachers recognize and, more importantly, value the children as individuals. They are loving, passionate about their jobs, communicative about the children’s social and academic progress, and always willing to take the time to teach each child at his/her skill level. They have instilled a strong sense of confidence and love of learning that I hope will continue throughout my children’s academic journeys.
I highly recommend SCMS. We have been members of this community since the beginning of 2017. This school is a place where my children have grown and thrived in amazing ways. The education they have received has been outstanding and the teachers go above and beyond to make each student feel special and loved. They just have a way! From the very first moment when my husband and I stepped into the building, we just knew it was exactly where we wanted our child to spend their days to learn and play. It is a warm and nurturing environment where child-directed play is important. Responsibility and kindness is also part of their daily teachings. We love Jen the Director and the playground is the absolute best!!
