To everyone commenting on the bullying problem and saying that its the schools fault-
Technically it is NOT the schools fault. Bullying is everywhere and rampant. It is the day and age that we live in. It boils down to the parents of the bullies and how they raise their kids. There are far more students than staff in this school and it continues to grow every year due to poor Memphis schools and people just wanting to get out of Memphis, period. Compared to the number of students vs staff, it is nearly impossible for staff to take action and see ALL bullying. I graduated 10 years ago from this school and when we got bullied, we fought back. We didn’t run home and cry. GROW UP.
It is absolutely shameful to look at the number of student beatings (assaults by school administrators by the principal and assistants with wooden boards while another paid school employee who enjoys watching sits by and does nothing). Violence is being taught here with the hundreds of young people being hit and hurt each year. The numbers are staggering at this school and throughout the school district. These people should not be around school children.
my experience at Southaven middle school is very interesting its not bad and its not good. something that are in need of improvement such as lesson and physical features. Going to this school would a be an interesting experience.
