Our boys have been at SHPS for 4 and 5 years, and we’ve had nothing but great experiences. In the time since we’ve been there, the school has expanded in so many ways… new buildings and furnishings, new sports opportunities, new afterschool activities, etc. I’ve seen others claim that the curriculum is no different than public school, but our experience has been very different when comparing what the kids have been taught compared to some of their friends. The class sizes are half as big, there is no teacher union or tenure (only the best are retained year over year), and there is a general sense of engagement throughout the staff that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about the facility, the staff, and especially the principals.
This has been the best school for my daughter. We removed her from pubic school after the fourth grade and moved her to SHPS. She excelled academically with the support and guidance of the Head of School Carla Martin, Principal Dawn Robert’s and her amazing teachers. My daughter has also had the opportunity to play sports and because a stellar athlete through the schools sports programs. I am looking forward to her beginning her 8th grade year and graduation from SHPS. Again, the best move my husband and I have ever made for our daughter. We will be forever grateful for all the this school has done for her
My daughter has attended this school since she was three years old. She is now 13. I cannot say enough about this school being more advanced in comparison to the public & charter schools. I feel she is getting an excellent education with small class sizes with teachers who really try hard to work with your child’s strengths and weaknesses. Once again because of the smaller class sizes, each student gets individual attention and the staff truly knows each and every child as well as their family, i highly recommend everything thus school has to offer.
