It used to be a good school. However, it has gone down hill fast!!! There is a general lack of structure, in the courses, and badly needed material, like textbooks, consistently do not arrive on time. Refund policy is practically non existent. I can not voice concern’s with out severe retaliation.
I have experienced gender discrimination, & the teachers are not held to a level of accountability. I Have seen other concerns of a similar nature voiced by other students, and there is a real effort to keep these students from talking about these problems. Our voice is being suppressed! They even tried to go to my work and get me fired!!!
From the very beginning, my experience has not only met my expectations, but exceeded them in almost every way. I have never felt so at home while in an academic environment. The instructors go above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and appreciated, and they actually care about my education as much as I do. Furthermore, the staff is extremely patient and kind in every situation that may arise, as well as very efficient in getting any problems solved in a very reasonable manner. Southwest Tech is an amazing school that I strongly recommend to all who are willing to give it a try!
