In our own experience, the Deputy Principal Jacinta is a bully and can be extremely nasty to both Students and Parents. Is always looking for the worst in kids and never hear from her in the “good”. Disappointing as there is some really lovely class teachers that we’ve had over the past 3 years. This School at Assembly calls out Children/s names who are talking, makes them stand up in-front of hundreds of other students, Teachers and Parents. As I was attending SMSS assembly to watch my Son get an award, I couldn’t help but feel so sad for this poor child and how he would’ve felt in this moment of complete humiliation. Lastly, we made the decision to give our kids an early Holiday as they were extremely exhausted and moving School next year for a fresh start. The Report cards were ready on QParents App. As I logged in they had already got rid of my kids which meant I wasn’t able to access neither of their report cards. Not everyone is brave enough to leave an honest review but thought it might help another family to be wary of.
My kids go here and the elder one was in Indooroopilly state school for couple of years before moving here. I can see that he has continued the momentum. The school is new and there is a fresh and energetic vibe everywhere. Kids love their school, teachers are good, and the management seems to be doing a great job. Note that iPads are used for studies here.
Recently, my daughter was bullied by her fellow students and school did nothing to prevent it. Instead they complained that she is average in studies and teacher has no interest in teaching or explaining things to her. They are displaying passive behaviour towards her and marking her D purposely on her subjects in spite of her NorthShore private tuitions results being great. I am appalled that a Teacher can hold grudge against a small child who is at least 5 times smaller her age.
New school .. growing quickly… parking can be at a premium even though currently a large area… well set up … signage easy to follow..
So on the oval today a student today kicked it out of play and then cheats in the soccer match teacher doesn’t care and gets free goals. So I am frustrated snatched the ball and passed to my teammates and teacher told me to come here and she said she said she was helping me. And a another student is using foul language. They say at spring mountain Small problem to a big problem well swearing (foul language) is a big problem.
