As a recent graduate from SSL I can honestly say this was the best decision I’ve made in my life ! I’m so glad I fully completed this program to be able to write a full review on my time there from start to finish.
Coming from the Bronx , NY to Texas it was a big change for me. SSL institute staff & students welcomed me with open arms though. Ms. Tameka was a very professional , genuine & caring instructor. At times she Apply’s pressure to make sure her students are understanding the curriculum both in lecture & in lab. She’s a very invested instructor that has been in the game 25+ years and I can assure you she knows what she’s doing. In lab I was very impressed with that fact we were allowed to be hands on every day & we are given the privilege to use products & equipment that I know for a fact other schools only allow you to see it used in demonstration. We are given the privilege to have several guest speakers come in and give us further knowledge on a product line and/or service. We also get well prepared for our licensing exams with exam prep several times throughout the course. Our instructor makes it her duty to have her students prepared before we graduate leaving her with a 99% passing rate ! The administration very professional making sure you’re updated with things that are going on in the school & they check in and update you on your progress. Even after you graduate they are accessible if you ever have any questions. As for the owner tiara she wasn’t my teacher (she teaches nights) but if it’s one thing about her if you have a question she has an answer !!! I am so so so grateful for her and everything she has done for her school & me personally. Tiara is very genuine , giving , keeps it professional, & shows out & up for us as much as she can ! Although she doesn’t teach day class she makes time to come teach us her tips & tricks of doing things. She gon drop some gems !

As a recent graduate of SSL I literally can’t say enough about this school! The program introduced me to several avenues of the esthetic industry, which helped me to find what was most passionate to me. Between the esthetics conference, guest speakers (successful local beauty pros), and even being connected with reps for major skincare brands, I felt really excited about embarking into a new chapter. Ms. Tameka is knowledgeable about services, products, and trends within the industry & needless to say learning with Tiara was just all around invaluable. With their help I was able to find and hone in on my niche – corrective skincare. AFTER COMPLETING THE PROGRAM, I FEEL 100% READY TO CONTINUE MY JOURNEY IN THE ESTHETICS INDUSTRY.

With the recent relocation to a larger campus, I can definitely see the vision that Tiara has for the school. As the program continues to expand, I definitely recommend MOTIVATED beauty professionals to tour and see it for themselves. Of course, like anything else in life, you get in what you put out — that goes for energy and effort! As long as you don’t give up, continue to show up, study materials (self study as well) — I promise you’ll be glad you did it. If I could go back in time I would definitely pick SSL (over any other school, I toured 2 and researched several) all over again! I literally wouldn’t change a thing. Good luck beauty baes! GHETTO. Worst 2 weeks of my life. For
Starters I paid my full books and kit November 15th 2021 it’s Jan 23rd 2022 NOTHING. The teacher Mrs Tomeka is a mess she can’t teach. Stays on her phone. Very rude and combative as if she’s a public school teacher. Told me I made her feel like a kindergarten teacher. The classroom is barley even a classroom the chairs to the desk have NO SCREWS. Lean back you’ll fall out the seat. The break room is small as hell and they be bringing they kids up there to eat as if it’s ROOM OR SOMETHING. They’re unprofessional all the tools are old and broken it’s honestly giving hood. Got people paying 12k and they can’t even invest it back into the building. But bragging about
The 4 different cars they drive. It looks like we paying car notes and designer bags. But if I had a time machine I’d go back and get
My money back this place is wack. Just a lil FYI.
