I went here from year 7 to almost the end of year seven. The school is nice and it helped me learn more a bit. Some kids can be mean like once I got poured a bottle of a popper all over me, and it was bad. Teachers are nice especially Mrs Richardson but I don’t really think some of them care of what students are doing most of the time. I was also apart of the dance team, we went to nationals and all these eisteddfods and all the people in the dance team are very friendly. Mrs Snook is amazing she is the most heartfelt person and is very supportive. I have heard some stuff about year 9’s vaping in the bathrooms but I’m pretty sure nobody does anything about it. The enrolment is really hard to get into. I had to wait 2 years since grade 4 until there was an open spot for me. But besides that bullying is also something that nobody really cares about, also making friends, some kids can be mean. But your kid can still go here.
Rugby team plays unfairly started 5 fights in 40 mins if they get tackled they cry

GRUBBS

Teachers are lovely for the most part. As a member of the dance team, the performing arts section of the school are really welcoming. Enrolment is a drag, I got in quite easily as there was an open spot but I know people usually have problems with it. Bullying is quite a normal thing and nothing is really done about it. Great sporting opportunities, and good support from councillors as well as learning support. For the most part it’s a good school
Bullying is bad and the school does nothing. I have emailed Pastoral care for follow up and the bullies are still harrassing my teen. We didn’t have these issues in the so-called rough public school.
If your kid is academic oriented this is NOT the school for them, my teen has complained 1 teacher just keeps playing Taylor Swift’s songs WHILE class is on-going. Academically they are behind and not as well equipt as the public school.
We’ve only been here 1 term and so far very disappointed when comparing this school to the regional private school and the most recent public school my teen has been in.
As a student currently attending St. Augustine’s College (STAC), I feel compelled to share my honest perspective on this institution. Unfortunately, my experience at STAC has left me profoundly dissatisfied on multiple fronts. From the lackluster staff and prevalent bullying among students to the outdated schooling system and stifling uniform policies, it’s difficult to find reasons to recommend this school.

Let’s start with the staff. To put it frankly, their commitment and competence leave much to be desired. They often appear disinterested and fail to provide the support and guidance necessary for a positive learning environment. It’s disheartening when the people who should be inspiring and encouraging us fall short in their responsibilities.

Moreover, the behavior of some students at STAC is nothing short of disheartening. Bullying seems to be a pervasive issue, creating a toxic atmosphere that dampens the overall school experience. Instead of fostering a sense of camaraderie and respect, STAC has become a breeding ground for negativity and hostility. It’s challenging to focus on academics when one feels constantly undermined or threatened.

The schooling system at STAC also falls behind the times. The teaching methods employed often lack engagement and fail to promote critical thinking skills. It feels like we’re stuck in an era that fails to acknowledge the rapidly changing world around us. The curriculum seems stagnant, lacking relevance and failing to inspire intellectual curiosity. As students, we crave an educational experience that challenges us and prepares us for the future.

Furthermore, the strict enforcement of uniform policies at STAC stifles our ability to express ourselves. The emphasis on conformity leaves little room for individuality or personal style. It’s frustrating to feel restricted in our self-expression, especially during our formative years when we’re discovering who we are and how we want to present ourselves to the world. We should be encouraged to embrace our uniqueness, not forced into a mold.

In conclusion, St. Augustine’s College (STAC) has left me feeling deeply disappointed. The lackluster staff, prevalent bullying, outdated schooling system, and restrictive uniform policies all contribute to an environment that hampers personal growth and fails to prioritize student well-being and individuality. As a student, I urge prospective students and their families to carefully consider their options before choosing STAC. There are undoubtedly other institutions that provide a more supportive, forward-thinking, and inclusive educational experience.
