I’m disappointed at the handling of an issue with my daughter who is in second grade. She got in trouble for passing notes in class, which is understandable. Upon this happening, they sent her home with a letter to be signed. I signed the note but didn’t put it in her backpack the very next day. The following day I had another letter sent home with my daughter that said she wouldn’t be able to dress down and had retention during recess on Friday simply because the signed note wasn’t in her backpack. First of all, there was nothing stating that the note had to be returned straight away. Second, it was not my daughter’s fault and I had clearly expressed that in not only an email to the teacher but a hand written letter, yet she is still being punished.

This is the type of response in school systems that causes serious mental health challenges and makes a child feel like they aren’t a good person. Children should be lifted up and not penalized for something they didn’t do. I’m truly upset at this institution and based on other reviews, we are experiencing the same issue. Such a shame.

St. Christopher the Martyr School is a wonderful school! I graduated from St. Christopher and so did my two daughters. We all have very fond memories of SCS. The teachers and administration were dedicated and supportive and there was a lot of involvement among parents. The education my girls received at St. Christopher gave them the foundation they needed to be successful in high school and college. We are still active in St. Christopher School and Church activities. I am proud to be a member of the St. Christopher community.
My child started at St. Christopher for prek3. We are now on year 5 and I can honestly say that I could not be happier with this school. The teachers and staff are amazing and are willing to help out in any way they can. Our new principal, Mrs. Trahan is phenomenal and really cares about the school, staff, students, as well as parents. I highly recommend St. Christopher.
