I went to this school as a boarder in year 7. I enjoyed being a part of the boarding community until Mr Duran left. It all went downhill, bullying became more common yet ignored by teachers and administrators, smoking and vaping too. I was constantly left out by the English students and felt like I did not belong there. Students lack manners and bully often. Open your eyes!
My friend has just taken her daughter out due to ongoing bullying issues in year 7! The school/leadership can’t seem to control/deter it and the kids are clearly not being reprimanded harshly enough to stop the bullying. With the amount they charge for fees, they should be ashamed. I am absolutely appalled!!
My son was only in the prep school for a short while due to a house move. I was very impressed with the facilities and his class teacher. The school is so nurturing. The headmaster knew every child by name and always checked in with my son when he was new to make sure he settled. The school grounds are beautiful and the children had alot of time outside for games and forest school. I would reccomend this school to all parents
I had fond memories of St Edmund’s College having been a pupil there in the 80’s so naturally thought it would be suitable for our daughter. She was very happy there under the leadership of Mr Duran, unfortunately under the current leadership the quality of teaching and the school in general has steadily gone downhill. The sixth form is a shambles, particularly the English Department. I would suggest your money would be better spent elsewhere
Prep school was amazing. Headmaster was brilliant! Very caring attitude & encouraging. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Senior school completely different, personally didn’t work for us. Since moving to a different school my child has excelled beyond belief in all subjects, reaching top grades. This school did not encourage the ‘quieter kids’. Same kids always up for awards. Teaching was just ok. Academic concerns put on reports for most minor of things, great for your kids confidence!! Be great if teachers could remember my child’s name too! If it’s after school you need for working parents, the time I was there, it shut at 4.30 so not helpful. For the cost I think there are much better schools out there.
