We just finished our first year in PreK4 at SJS. Our experience has been spectacular. We were welcomed with events to meet other families before the school year began as well as orientation programs to acclimate to the school. I recall the PTA President saying any SJS parent can pick up my kids from school, I knew we were in the right place .
My sons classroom was full of activities and books- colorful and organized. His teacher and teacher aide truly cared about my son and gave candid feedback, they were both truly amazing and it was clear they love their job. Communication from the school is excellent , and there are always teachers and staff around at drop off and pick up. As a family, we are grateful to be a part of the SJS Community, it has brought me back to going to church. My son loves school, has grown so much, and is confident in himself.
SJS is exceptional! We truly could not be happier as parents to know our son is at this school.
Our two daughters have attended SJS for several years. I cannot say enough good things about this school. The education is top notch, particularly for the price, which is lower than other private schools in Lincoln Park. The school has twice received a Blue Ribbon for academics. The faculty and staff are caring and kind, always putting the kids and their education and wellbeing first. The kids are nice and polite (well, for children anyway), and bullying isn’t tolerated. The community is great, and there are tons of ways for parents to get involved and form relationships with other parents. As a working parent, I have really appreciated how often other parents have had my back when I needed help getting the kids to/from, etc. I highly recommend anyone looking for small class size, excellent academics, and a well-run school check out SJS.
My daughter attends St. Josaphat School. We have many excellent choices in the neighborhood for private schools and a great local Chicago Public School. We chose St. Josaphat School due to its strong Catholic identity, low student to teacher ratio, rigorous academics, parental involvement and nurturing atmosphere. St. Josaphat School utilizes the Next Generation Science Standards, a solid foundation for STEM careers. This was important for us as a family as my wife and I both work in STEM related fields. St. Josaphat Schools strong academics are exemplified by its two time recognition as a US Department of Education National Blue Ribbon status. St. Josaphat School encourages students to achieve their highest potential and to become morally and socially responsible individuals.
