I just wanted to say that St.Marks is the best school I have ever been to. I’m not sure why it’s getting such a bad reputation here, but being a student at St.Mark’s I can honestly tell you I love it. I’ve been to 8 schools over the years and St.Mark’s has been the only school to where I can come home with a smile on my face. Yes, the guidelines are strict, but as long as you follow them, you’re good. I mean, really, the rules aren’t even that hard. No phones because they want you getting the most out of what they are teaching you…not to mention that the rule is perfectly acceptable. The school is fun, and the people that go there are VERY inclusive and open. I came in the middle of the school year and by the end of the first day I had already been hanging out with a group of girls. They play christian music during the classes, too, which I think is pretty cool and they just opened up this amazing new building. Now, I don’t know why everyone is complaining here. Ask anyone who goes here and they will tell you they love it. The only thing you need to do is follow the rules, be open to learning and trying new things and you will love it! Just thought I needed to point out what St.Mark’s is really like.
I feel that this school only has a few teachers who actually know what they are doing. Only a few options for extra curricular activities: Spanish (they don’t teach you anything in this forced class), Art, and Band. For 8,000 dollars a year… just save the cash for a nice vacation. You may think that you are doing the right thing by sending your child to a falsely advertised “best private education in El Paso” but you can’t trust all ads. Do what you want with your child, but this is a warning to you. Also, if you want to call your kid at carpool, you can’t because they don’t allow it. As a child who goes to this school, I know what it is like to go there, even though I am a child, I warn about this money sucking school (I swear they ALWAYS want money, they make you pay $25 for artwork that your child made) because it’s better to be safe than sorry. Thank you for listening to my warning (more like reading).
My kid was an honor student at St Marks school eight years. He was never sent to the principal’s office and never got in trouble of any kind. He watched a viral YouTube video at school which may have been somewhat inappropriate. I got called to the principal’s office because of this issue and the principal called my son a pervert little boy and they expelled him after keeping him 20 days out of school and they threatened him by telling him that the police would come to our home to search through our computers. I just wonder if it would’ve been someone else’s son if they would take the same actions.
