I have been an auntie of children at this school for over 10 years and now my little girl has joined the kindergarden and we’re so happy with the kind, straight forward and contact filled way the teachers have in welcoming new children. The other parents are also a warm and welcoming presence as well. The Grounds are perfect for little adventures and the school feels safe, secure and filled with warmth.
Our daughter started at St Michael’s at their Parent & Child group and we’ve continued her journey there into Kindergarten, and will continue on through Main school. It’s been a wonderful safe, nourishing experience for the whole family and the creativity of the teachers and students makes it the perfect environment for her. I cannot recommend it highly enough
There are so many layers and subtleties to Steiner education and I feel as if the whole family is being educated alongside our children as we understand the brilliance and nuance of Rudolf Steiner’s vision. One of the things I take home is how the teachers, as a collective, hold the long term view of a child, the measures and approaches taken are to guide and steer rather than dictate and control and they can allow the natural bumps of childhood to be seen within a wider sphere, literally and metaphorically. I know not all Steiner schools are carried in the same way, so I am so grateful for the passion, commitment and integrity of the staff at St Michael who create the warm community that we are. My children are getting the very best of education on all levels: a love of learning, skills for the world, empathy across ages, loyalty, will and love. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough, with only a few words of caution, a parent must be willing to look at themselves and their impacts just as much as their choice of school. It’s a mutual growth for all parties.
Our daughter attends kindergarten at St Michaels and we are all so happy with our experience. We started at the Parent and Child sessions which is such a beautiful space for under 5s and their parents to enjoy. Spending time tending to the garden swinging in the tree swing and playing with beautiful wooden nature inspired toys in the cozy hut. A great insight and first experience of the Steiner approach. Since attending kindergarten our daughter has blossomed. It’s such a kind nurturing place
The teachers are beautiful souls who really care for the children. Using the seasons and cultural festivals as the themes throughout the year.. the rhythm and flow of the daily activities are so creative and encourage playful wonder and learning. For the parents joining st Michaels means being part of a community a family and these words can’t even begin to describe how grateful we are to be part of the school – for our daughters growth, for our family’s ….
The aliveness, relevance and joy within St Michael’s never fails to move me. The care, creativity and focus on the children’s holistic development is exceptional. As my 18 year old prepares to complete school I see how many seeds have been deeply planted – in preparation for a life of resilient blooming under emergent conditions.
