Joined school last year. It is fantastic school with inspiring and very supportive Head Teacher and all the school teachers. Extremely high standard of teaching and learning, opens great opportunities for the future. The motto of the school summerises it all: “I am St Paul’s Girl and there is nothing I cannot achieve”. It is perfect place to get your grades.
My daughter went to this school and I cannot praise them enough. She thrived both in confidence and academically. Fantastic headteacher and leadership team, with a great family ethos.
I am appalled at some of the reviews on here. Both my daughters attended St Paul’s and are still very proud to be a St Paul’s girl. They are both anglo asian and never experienced racism or bullying of any kind. The balance between religion and education is excellent. They were taught to value themselves and their role and place in the world. My eldest daughter was supported through a difficult time and that extended to the whole family. The St Paul’s enviroment is one of support and an excellent standard of education. The wonderful team of teachers led by one of the most inspirational head teachers i have ever known.
If you want your child to develop mental health issues, be put under so much stress to be perfect and have a ridiculous amount of deadlines this js the place to go!!!! A lovely atmosphere of what one would describe as a cult where you’re forced to pray even if you’ve arent Christian/religious. Who wouldn’t love a school that puts religion over education (then blames the students for being behind in the curriculum) and abandons anyone who isn’t in top set? I’m an ex student at this school and my parents wish they never sent me, I spent my time here contemplating suicide, begging for help from the teachers for three years then told that they were sorry for having me ‘slip through the net’. The school doesn’t teach you, they force you to remember things and when you get to A-levels they do the same so university is going to be a definitive struggle. Yeah you might get decent grades without trying if you’re smart enough but is it really worth losing your child? For my parents it wasn’t. Please, don’t do this to your children.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!
Honestly one of the worst descisions of my life, the mental torture is not worth it! I have experienced racism so many times, and felt segregated for five years that I have spent at this school.
Some teachers actually care I cannot lie, But some of them are so arrogant and rude and make you feel so low about yourself; i remember in year 10 the head of KS4 called my mother in to say i’m predicted grades 1’s and 2’s (which wasn’t the case) and to say i wasn’t revising at all and that my mum should “put me in the kitchen already because there’s no hope for her” yet i got 8’s and 7’s in my exams. (which is equivalent to A’s and A*’s). All they know is to knock your confidence down and give you mental tortue to receive top grades so that they can get their funding from the government. They have had a leaking roof for so many years and they don’t invest to fix it for the health and safety of the students and staff, in the cold winter they don’t even put the radiators on and they don’t let us put on our coats on either so we are literally freezing, and they act like they are the only school in birmingham to be open for more than 110 years. They talk for so long at PTA meetings and literally make parents want to sleep. They act like it’s a ‘privelidge’ to go to their dirty small sixth form whereas they be begging you to join by saying you will be lucky to “sit on chairs during assemblies” REALLY?!?!
The constant racism and bullying is not worth it, don’t send your child to this school, they are not what they show you on open evenings, they tell the students to lie and put up a facade in front of the parents who are coming. Please look after your daughter; thank you.
