I enjoyed school here, it’s been about 11 years. But I do remember the lady superintendent in charge of homework helpers still haunts my dreams. If you forgot your homework 3 times you get homework helpers. Sounds helpful but only if your into feeling socially ostracized for being forced to sit across the cafeteria from your mates during lunch to eat alone, missing recess and then spending it with that lady. She was so scary and mean I would cry for hours before I was even in her office and the teachers would still make me go like Mrs wankum but if it was a different student she favored she would let the class vote if said student deserved it. Superintendent would take your shoe if you forgot a pencil and this included kids with learning disabilities. So there was a girl there everyday without a shoe.
At St. Peter, I know that my children are safe. Knowing that the doors are locked from the outside and you have to sign in upon entry makes me feel much more comfortable having my children there. I’ve been to other schools in Jefferson City where the safety measures don’t come close to those of St. Peter. The teachers and staff are caring and compassionate, and have a general concern for the students in the school.
