I am a mother of 2 children currently enrolled at St. Thomas and have been for over 6 years now. The staff here at St. Thomas love their students and help them in more than just academic growth. The community this school has created for its students and their families is like nothing I’ve ever seen or been a part of before.

The teachers see their students as individuals and treat them as such. They have smaller class sizes so the students can get the personal time needed to really help them understand both the academic concepts as well as personal growth and development being taught. The teachers are also incredibly flexible with scheduling requested meetings/conferences to accommodate their students families. The teachers are easy to communicate with outside of conferences by utilizing phone calls, video calls and emails outside of the classroom updates they send out. There is no reason for parents to feel disconnected with what’s happening in the classroom. When I was a working single mother losing touch with my children’s academic and personal growth was something that I worried about. Children spend more waking hours at school throughout the week than they do at home. Life is busy. It’s easy to lose touch. I’m no longer a single mother however I do still work and I appreciate that the staff at STA understands this are so accommodating. They truly go above and beyond. I have never felt as if my children were just a job/number they need to push through the system.

The Principal Mrs. Schulte, is truly amazing. She isn’t just an authoritative figure that sits behind a desk all day dealing with school/ student business. She is involved. All of the students know who she is and are comfortable talking to her. She has a gentle but firm approach that helps students from all ages ( 3-30+ years) feel comfortable. She treats all of her students with respect and listens to them attentively so the students know they are being heard when they come to her with suggestions they might have on anything from activities to school rules.

I will be keeping my children enrolled at St. Thomas as long as St. Thomas has grades avaliable for them to attend. I wish they offered a high school program.

It’s crazy to me how easy it is for someone who has no legal rights in any way to children enrolled here to write a “review” and are allowed to spread spiteful lies and gossip. Knowing them personally, I can attest to that nasty bully behavior being an unhealthy level of obsession that is both sad and pathetic.

St Thomas Academy is the most welcoming, inclusive, compassionate, caring, SAFE, respectful environment for academics we’ve ever encountered. The professionalism and culture of honor they have fostered there is stunning for a smaller town school. The faith-filled, character-rich curriculum is mostly offline, which allows relationships, interpersonal connection, and mentorships to thrive. We are so grateful to have found such a high caliber school for our children – all who have loved their years there. They truly care about each unique child, and what motivates them individually. Our community is so fortunate to have such a service-minded, safe, uplifting place for children’s minds and hearts to stretch and grow in wisdom, character, curiosity and consideration!
