This place needs to be shut down. My experience has been horrific and it has given me an alarming concerning for the families who bring their children to Starfish Academy.

I removed my child from enrollment multiple times (as her attendance is a violation of our families Parenting Plan), yet the facility is so desperate for headcount that they allow for her to be dropped off by her father, despite multiple attorneys, judges, and even a mother requesting for this to stop.

Their staff has been absent upon check ins and front desk unaccountable. There are dangerous play spaces that lack cleanliness, and don’t even have sunshades to protect against the Florida sun. The rooms that have no windows and smell of fecal matter. Also, they have unaccounted for adults “work with’ children, blurring the line between mental health facility and daycare.

I would think twice about this facility as it is unsafe and I’ve personally found it to be functioning without ethics.

I’ve had both my children at Starfish for around two years and they absolutely love it. The staff is caring and professional, the facility is clean and inviting and the services are the best I’ve ever seen. My oldest receives on-site speech and language therapy while he’s in preschool. The improvements he’s made have completely blown me away. The school’s social-emotional consultant helped me through the three-nager stage for my youngest. I’ve attended parenting classes that she offered for free. Starfish has been a blessing to our family and the staff has helped me and my husband become better parents to our kids. I can’t say enough great things about this school. In my opinion, it’s the BEST in Sarasota.
I can’t say enough positive attributes Starfish Holistic represents. They truly are changing the way children learn and thrive in education and socialization. The teachers are kind and highly motivated to connect with the students at THE STUDENT’S level to help them feel motivated and supported. The curriculum is carefully crafted and demonstrates a high level of attention and care. Kaegan has dedicated herded to this movement and it shows. Thank you for what you are doing for students!!
