To start off with, I must say this school is generally good with not much bullying happening. Most of the time, students basically just overreacting about things which hence creates all the fuss and drama in the first place. However, everything at this school is not all just butterflies and rainbows. Teachers need to improve on the way that they deal with situations. They need to understand that keeping a student in at break and discussing what they did wrong really isn’t going to do anything. It just proves to the student that this is one of the only punishments, so then they can do it over and over again without thinking since they really have nothing stopping them. This also include inappropriate talk of things in school (which obviously at this day and age, most boys and doing from Kindergarten all the way to Year 6).
However, not all is bad. We have a fair voting system for things such as Sports (House) Captains, The Student Leadership Team (Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects) and Student Parliament (Our version of SRC, except the roles are organised into certain departments and everybody gets a say). These votes are balanced out as teachers, in which their votes are far more substantial compared to, well, students. Not being voted into the Student Leadership Team also isn’t a problem, as the Student Leadership team does not handle EVERYTHING. The zone athletics carnival is coming up and teachers have been MONITORING students demonstrating good leadership qualities, such as being loyal, trustworthy, etc. most of these students are NOT part of the student leadership team and they get to assist at the zone athletics carnival!
However, some poor students in this school may have also experienced sexism with some teachers. Some teachers listen to the girls are don’t care about the boys.
Canteen is overpriced but the food is honestly delicious (maybe not on the first week of school though)
I must still say though, this school is pretty good – not deserving of 5 star but definitely 4 stars!
I would recommend making the most out of this school, appreciate it all while you still have it. You will meet amazing people, amazing friends, amazing teachers. You might even leave the school with the same people that you started with! Make some memories, you’ll grow quickly.
To anybody reading, this, you are amazing!
Also, if Miss Fan is reading this, I would highly recommend her, she is an absolutely amazing teacher. Same with Mrs Xi!
I hope that this review helps out a little. I might update this in future when I leave the school! 😀
