If you live in St. Cloud/Waite Park and you have kids make them go to this school. Me and my brother went their. Everyone is nice, seriously everyone, I’ve never seen anyone get bullied or left on the side lines. The teachers are brilliant. The school how its set up is wonderful. They have three classes for each subject. Like for instance math, they’d have one average- whitch means you grade level, upper level- whitch means you get to learn math in a higher grade, and then they have struggling- whitch means your falling behind, they also have a really stuggling class- whitch i was in and in that month i graduated from it and worked myself up to an average (all because the teachers really cared). Also their are less kids in each class, so you have more learning oppertunitys. Its a very safe enviorment. The pe class is awsome. If the 4th grade teachers are still there here are a few (unless they retired) Mr.Thoel and Mrs. Lar they were both my faviorte teachers. I think the worst teacher there was in 3rd grade Mrs or Ms. Northburg, and she wasent all that bad. You also get awarded for your kindness. Ok just stop reading this and bring your kid to this school already!
Bullying is a HUGE problem that IS NOT being properly addressed. Our 5&6 year old children have come home with quite an array of poor vocabulary words that I certainly hope aren’t on the curriculum.
The staff is friendly until you have an issue. Then it’s as if they have more say over your child than you do. Power struggles with a school about YOUR CHILD should never be an issue.
Teachers are extremely difficult to get in touch with. Email is the only way to contact your child’s teacher outside of conferences. Maybe I’m old school, but I think forming a relationship with the person educating your child is important, and you can’t do that via email.
If your child is on an IEP or has an aid, the only way it send you can contact any of them is at an IEP meeting or just going into the school after dismissal to chat for a few (which is the only way I’ve ever been able to converse with my child’s aid).
All of these things make it very difficult to form a relationship with any of the faculty or staff members. And these are the people we are to entrust our children with 40+hours a week. Concerning
Good School but could be better. I feel they have been taking steps back especially this last year. They need to restructure the way classrooms are set up and think out of the box. Too many kids that need more attention than avg and take time away from Kids that strive for more. Like the school and most of the staff however I think they have a tough task in front of them. We have decided to transfer our kids to a different school where they wont be held back. Nothing against the school, they will rebound but they need to do something different.
