This is not the environment any student should be in especially if your child has an IEP. Understaffed classrooms because there is no teacher retention all the teachers keep leaving because of management and my child is constantly having new “teachers” come in. My child is not receiving therapy according to their IEP because the school hasn’t had a speech therapist since returning at the beginning of school year 08/2021 which is going on almost 8 months in a few weeks. Pressuring teachers who put that same pressure on student with all the testing.The school doesn’t see an issue with the methods/approach taken and it is the children that hurt in the end. My child will NEVER return to this school because this approach hinders success and I’m surprise this school hasn’t been audited based not reporting all COVID cases, having one teacher per 30 kids, and students not receiving services plus so much more that goes on. This charter school needs to be defunded or a serious change needs to happen by people who really care about children succeeding and not just the funding they need to keep the place afloat or the investors who are just investing for a tax write off which isn’t helping these students at all!!!
This is the worst environment for any child. Its like an army based academy. Can you imagine having silent lunch as a first grader ? Smh ridiculous, the Principal the teachers are highly unprofessional. Theres a very select few in there who are decent staff members. They pull students , the DONT allow them to be kids. Every Wednesday is a half a day. School starts at 7:30 they give them bag breakfast as if they are animals. The curriculum is ridiculous. Computers are being carried all day everyday even in KINDERGARTEN! This school is solely for SHOW & doesnt care about your childs well being or their education. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Transfer your kids out to ICHAN , BRONX EXCELLENCE anywhere but SA !
Worst experience ever. Quickest school transfer I ever done. My kids attended this horrible school for only for 2 DAYS!! 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Nelson it is not qualified in any way to be a teacher nor to deal with parents. The kids are not allow to be kids and the expectations from teachers are UNREAL. You cannot expect a child to be trained to act a certain way. My older child is in 4th grade . They put her in 3rd grade because they wanted to give her an assessment first to see if she was qualified for her grade. Its so disrespectful for us. The only reasonable person was the guy who helped me through the process of getting them in the school that works in the office
