They are good for making children feel less than they are. They are quick to label your child and make you think something is wrong with them. When your child is suspended they provide inadequate reasons as to why and lack of proper explanation. They preach about the parent handbook but when you point out something that works in your childs favor they tell you it’s at their discretion. If you try to move to another success academy don’t bother, the principle will flat out tell you its her decision to sign off on if your child can transfer and all the locations are in communication with one another when it comes to visiting another location to see if they have available seats. Best thing I did was pull my son from this location because all the flaws they almost made me believe he had was not present in the new school I put him in. They tried to say my son needs a psychologist and so forth. Once the school psychologist was showing me something on her phone and I saw the pprinciple texting her about me. The one amazing teacher my son had they fired her for reason I don’t know. She had sent out a text to all the parents of her students to let them know she was fired for reason she herself did not know. It was to the point that other parent that I knew at other locations was like something isn’t right. They gave me a bad parent review because of how much they were suspending him. They knew that I was parent that was dedicated in more ways than one so they were making it personal by sensing that to me. My son being there affected his behavior in so many ways that when I pulled him it was a drastic change… He was back to being obedient, listening, expressing himself and he’s so much more social now. I was so consumed by the eagerness for my son to have a rigorous education that it blindsided me and kept me from pulling him sooner like I was often being advised to. They started to lie and there were things about the main staff members I was beginning to see. And I hated how dumbfounded everyone acted. I had a crazy sense of relief once I told the principle my son won’t be coming back… I guess she was happy that I finally said it too.
Horrible experience! Since my son first started kindergarten this year we’ve had a horrible experience with this school. The first teacher he had in the beginning of the year was horrible. My son missed 2 days of school because he had a bad asthma episode. We didn’t even know he had asthma until this happened. When he returned to school his teacher called us and threatened to call ACS on us for not bringing him to school even though he had a doctors note for those days. The principal also told us that we need to bring him to school even if he’s sick and they will decide if he needs to go home or not. There were a couple other days he missed school due to my mom being sick. This has been a horrible year for us as a family. Later I find out that the principal and teacher asked my son what he was doing on his days off and they also asked what was I doing on his days off. This is completely out of line!! You don’t ask a child for information about what his parents do on days off! That was a question they should have asked us! They are a charter school they’re best interest are not the children. They’re best interest is having every child in school everyday so they can look good to get extra money. I am extremely upset about them crossing the line like this and am currently inquiring about withdrawing my son from this school!
My children was accepted for 2018-2019 school year and my experience with this school was ridiculous… first I was 1minute late on the (3 rd) day which was a half of day ..They wanted me to call off work and have a tardy meeting ..for the last (3) hot days 8/27-29 heat advisory days ,they had all the children sit on floor in yard during dismissal .. then there was a call stating my child kicked a door and was warned via phone of a suspension , then late that day I got a withdrawal letter via email.. I am stuck with $500.00 worth of uniform of which I wrote their names on.. I heard a lot great things about the school but it’s the people and the way they handled things I was not pleased of the way things got handled..
