If i could give a zero, i would. My daughter went to creekside elementary. I was told by the principle at orientation. That if i felt like my daughter, was too young to learn about transgender. I was not welcome there. Then he rephased it. if anyone feels that way they are not welcome here. It’s a public school everyone is welcome. I was not given an option to excuse her from learning about transgender. They told me that I can not excuse her. They are forcing my child to learn something at the age 5. I feels she is too young to learn. So I decided to pull my daughter in August. Before school started. They put her on the home schooling list. Without my approval. To still get the funding for her. Which the price is, i believe $17,000 per kid. I called dpi to ask for their help, to get her taken out of the system. When doing so. The sun prairie area school district. then blocked me, from my parent portal. So it made it look. Like she was taken out of the system. But they had her still enrolled at sun prairie creekside elementary. I enrolled my daughter in k-12 virtual school. To get her out of sun prairie area school district system. she loves k-12 virtual school and so do I. Its Alot of work, but awsome school. K-12 Virtural school, provided everything for my daughter including speech. Even if you have an iep. They work with you. I do not recommend enrolling your kid here at sun prairie. They bend every rules and force you to follow them. when they don’t follow them themselves. That’s what they are teaching our kids to do too. By showing their actions. The whole district is flawed. They care more about the money then our kids. And with us our kids are #1. Without us and our kids in sun prairie area school district. They lose funding. Us as parents still have choices for our
Kids. you as teachers and a school can not take that away from us. I am so happy we are done being bullied by sun prairie area school district. I feel we where forced out of the sun prairie area school district. In some cases everything happens for a reason. So I want to say thank you for your actions directing us, in that right direction. We wouldn’t be where we are now. Without What sun prairie area school district pulled on my daughter and I. So thank you. We hope you have a good rest of the year. Take care.
Fantastic School facilities (2 state of the art high schools built within the last 15 years, one of which was renovated within the last 5 years and one of which built within the last 5 years). They have beautiful sports and arts facilites compliment the fantastic Athletics and Arts programs the district has (one being a stadium shared between the high schools that seats 4000, and can rival some of the best D3 college stadiums in the country). The teachers are very good across the board. This district consistently has very high graduation rates and academic scores are among the top 20% in the state. They also are very progressive and work very hard to close the minority achievement gap.
The only things that I say could be improved (which could be said the same about most School Districts in Wisconsin) is holding students accountable a little more and decentralizing the power a little bit by giving more power to the school board.
