New from Pennsylvania, but my 10 year old son on the very first day had a terrifying experience with his teacher leaving him fearful throughout the day causing him to run to the bathroom because of being given a time frame to get his book from his desk which he couldn’t find because it was not there after the teacher Mr. MARINELA shove his desk causing it to overturn and having his books fall out to the floor, not only already being nervous about his first day but now being embarrassed in front of his new classmates. He was a nervous wreck when coming home. I addressed the principal in which I didn’t have the opportunity to speak with the teacher in the meeting with the principal but overall it seemed that this is a normal thing that this teacher does as one of the classmates stated to my son. I can say my son is not use to this and I will not allow him to get treated this way from any teacher. This to me is not normal behavior from a teacher especially when they spend most of their day there in school. I hope that this teacher realizes that his way of treating his students is only building “fear” in them at least to my son he has causing him to dislike the school . I requested to have him moved to a different class in which he was approached regardless by Mr. Marinela once again and had the odacity to tell my son why did he tell his parents? Like really my son tells us everything. This is not a situation to let go and forget. I’m hoping that my son can continue in this school without having to be with fear. I will see how it goes. This teacher needs to understand that this is not “discipline ” putting fear in students is not the way to help students out. Parents please make sure your kids dont have to go thru this fear. Always ask how their day went and how things are with the class and teacher. Very important to keep our kids safe and free from any type of abusive behavior.
So far so good. New to area. School is helpful just extremely large for an elementary and a little overwhelming for new comers. At least 8 buildings. Phone calls keep us informed on upcoming events. The two teachers we got seem really nice and helpful. Not sure on teachers for pe or art.
The best school in Pasco. My son started kindergarten this year, what a challenge he is. Mrs. Suttin his teacher mrs. Baker and mrs. Cameron always go above and beyond.
