My 10 year old son has been going to Sylvan for the last year and a half and he’s improved in leaps and bounds. One major reason that Sylvan has worked for my son over other tutoring agencies that we’ve tried is because it is tailored for his level and learning style. He has one-on-one instruction and a distraction-free learning environment. As parents, we are given consistent assessment feedback to recognize gaps in his knowledge and areas to improve. Sylvan also communicates regularly to his school teacher so that we are all on the same page when working on my son’s educational progress.

Another reason why we love Sylvan is that they also focus on the student’s self-confidence. They celebrate his milestones and successes. He enjoys his sessions at Sylvan and he is proud of his success as much as I am.

I did my research and looked into several different programs in the area to best fit my son’s needs. Sylvan stood out amongst the rest. Our son has made so much progress in reading and is truly building the foundation required to be successful. These good habits have carried over into other aspects of his life. Most importantly though, he enjoys going to his sessions and really likes the staff. He does not look at attending Sylvan as a chore. He is proud of himself and so am I! I love the reports the Center provides that showcase his accomplishments, goals and work in progress… and enjoy seeing the progress he has made in a tangible form.
