I started Taekwondo when I was a teenager and Tae Ryong is my fourth school that I have trained at.  Being active duty Air Force for 20+ years, moving back to Southern California and having the opportunity to join the team at Tae Ryong has been a blessing for both myself and my children. Master Shin, Master Nares, and Instructor Nichole are fantastic instructors, they work great with both kids and adults.  They do a great job at not only focusing on physical strength and endurance, but they stick with traditional Taekwondo and mixing in other forms of martial arts. It’s a fun atmosphere and never boring.  They publish a schedule months in advance so the students can select particular classes to focus on and continue their progression to earn their Black Belt and beyond.  Lastly, having a problem with a prior schools issuing our Kukkiwon certification, Master Shin and Grand Master Shin are going out of their way with helping us rectify the problem, which shows that they are a true and authentic Taekwondo school who watches out for their students and aren’t out there to just take peoples money.  I highly recommend Tae Ryong Taekwondo…great atmosphere and even better instructors!

Master Shin has been amazing when helping my daughter come out of her shell. Before we started, she didnt want to participate any extra curricular activities and was having trouble in school and with bullying. When we started she spent 45 days crying and watching the class from the side of the mat because she was too shy to participate. Master Shin and all of the instructors took the time to gain her trust and she has grown to love coming to the studio and working hard. In just 11 months my daughter has worked hard and earned 4 belts and gained lifelong skills that transfer into the real world. Shes earned awards and competed in competitions but nothing compares to the confidence she has in herself – the growth has been exponential in her personal, school and taekwondo career. With the help of all her instructors she is working hard to earn her black belt. Master Shin and his staff have been the best thing for my family!
