I own and operate a kids transportation service in Tallahassee so I have riders that attend Tallahassee Classical. The first interaction I had with the front office admin was the beginning of the school year and she was very rude, however I brushed it off because it was the beginning of the school year and I know how overwhelming that can be. Of course that’s no warrant to be rude but I let it go. Then in the middle of our conversation her daughter walked up to ask her a question and instead of asking her daughter to give her a second she cut me off to talk with her daughter about a lost and found box. Fast forward to today I had to interact with her again and was treated rudely, again. When I walk into anywhere I automatically speak to everyone so I know for sure she wasn’t feeding off of my energy but in my opinion it was racism. I am a black woman and she looks to maybe Hispanic, I’m not sure because that doesn’t determine how you treat people. I never write negative reviews and I’m also going to contact the school as well because the way she has talked to and treated me on two separate occasions is wrong, hurtful, and it makes me afraid of how she may treat the students who aren’t what she “prefers”. Thank God for the other lady that’s up there because she stepped in both times and helped me with a smile.
Don’t go by what you hear on the news, come check it out yourself instead of being influenced by Facebook and drama! The news not once interviewed parents who supported the school, they only wanted people to see the negative! I am a Kindergarten scholar and a 6th grade scholar. I will not settle for public school. My kids will not be staring at a screen all day at school. They learn how to write in cursive and they already quote the Preamble of our Constitution years at TCS. After the pandemic year in public school, we decided to try something different. My son comes home and talks about everything he learns. This was something he had never done in the past at other schools. The school practices character qualities and holds the kids to those standards. My son and daughter memorize numerous, Latin and Greek root words and earned scholar of the month. The curriculum allows the students to think outside of the box, and they can question and debate when applied to specific topics . Maybe you should just come and see!! It’s a safe school with loving teachers and staff.
My daughter was bullied, I sent messages explaining what the girls was planning to do, a few day later I get a call from a behavioral coach, my daughter is being suspended for fighting, the school states no phones allowed, oh my 8 year old phone was stolen, different story! One of the kids recorded the fight! Totally opposite from what the behavioral coach stated. I sent the video no phone call or apologies for falsely accusing my daughter of starting a fight! It’s now on her school record, it’s very disheartening what’s going on at these schools and because I am forced to send them this is the results. I would totally prefer to homeschool due to this, they fought in class, no presence or signs of a teacher. The horrible part is the behavior coach told a story completely different from the video! Parents what would you do in this scenario?
