After 3 years of trying to work with my son and this school I’ve come to the conclusion that this school is a joke and really doesn’t know how to work with children that struggle in the classroom. They only focus on the students that were naturally gifted so if your child struggle just a little bit he/she will be put on the back burner like my child. If your child is a good kid? avoid this school, they will make up imaginary behavior problems that your child has just to cover the fact that they aren’t doing their jobs, again they focus on the set ones who naturally knows all the material to make their school look good. Ms.Houston (mathematics) Ms. Hubbard reading/language arts) qand principal White need to be fired immediately.. Principal White is so unprofessional and ghetto that it’s ridiculous I guess they put her right in the perfect school district. She doesn’t care about their education, she puts on a great show though. Principal White needs to be removed as a principal. She and some of the teachers on the faculty are failing those kids (including my own) There are way more problematic students than good students and Tanner doesn’t have any type of programs to keep the children interested and motivated, besides tap and music that’s all they have as an extra curriculum activity. Tanner has no funding at all unless they’re getting funding and misusing it. I’m so glad I would be transferring my son.

Henry O. Tanner Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois is a school with plenty of potential, but it also has plenty of baggage to go along with it. Principal Monroe and Assistant Principal Bellamy are doing a solid job at trying to restore a conducive learning climate, but I am not sure if their efforts will be enough. Past administrators like Barnes, Miller, Graham-Morgan, Smith and King are responsible for all of the chaos that has taken/is currently taking place at Tanner. If Monroe and Bellamy really want to take Tanner back, they really need to remove the “Good Ol’ Boy Clique” that has influenced the school for many years. I would not be surprised if “The Clique” is working hard to get both women removed from their current positions of leadership.

Barnes has failed the children of Tanner.

Miller has failed the children of Tanner.

Graham-Morgan has failed the children of Tanner.

Smith has failed the children of Tanner.

King has failed the children of Tanner.

“The Clique” has failed/is currently failing the children of Tanner.
