I recommended this school to any families who wanted the best for their children. I have six children from the eldest to the youngest all attended and I never regret a day they are at the school. They were very supportive and caring in any way you ask when ever you are in needs. The principal, assistants and teachers are amazing, loving and excellent. Proud parents
I will be honest, when we first moved into the area I had a preconceived idea about Te Waka (was woolston at the time.) I was sure I wouldn’t send my children there. But after touring the local schools, I fell in love with Te Waka Unua.
My oldest is year 7 and all three of my boys now attend. We have been blown away by all the opportunities they have been provided with. The community feel of the school is my favourite part – the kids are very supportive of each other and the teachers are great. I believe a principal can make or break a school and Janeane, the principal, in the words of my kids “is amazing.”
I dont think many children have a completely smooth journey through school, kids are just learning how to work in society – but any issues we had have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.
We rave about Te Waka Unua to anyone who will listen, and will continue to do so.
Absolutely useless school way too many students in comparison to teachers. The “principal” is a TOTAL JOKE! Belittles you when you try get a solution for your child being bullied and laughed when I told her my son was having his head banged into the concrete by a student. Then replies with “what do you want me to do about it? I can’t change what had already happened” would NEVER recommend this school for ANY CHILD!!!
