Absolutely terrifying. My daughter attended teaching tree for almost 4 years and we were afraid to drop her off there after she got into the acorns room. I saw first hand one teacher grab a child by the face aggressively and tell them “you need to be quiet!” On another occasion, all the teachers and one aide told me about a different teacher grabbing a child by the face and telling her, “you need to move!” Both teachers are STILL working at the center. Our specific experience wasn’t physical, but definitely still abusive. The aide at the school told me a new teacher was instigating issues between and for children in the acorns room, specifically my daughter. This teacher would instigate issues until my daughter would have an emotional break down, which is extremely out of character for her. The teachers in the acorns room kept telling us our daughter needed “extra attention” because they didn’t know how to deal with her “break downs”. It is the caretakers job to make sure the needs are being met, so “break downs” don’t happen. For the record, my child is attending a new school, and has been since February, and has NOT had any similar “break downs”. Other teachers, even from other rooms, were strongly encouraging me to stand up for my daughter and tell the school that I recognize an issue, but that it wasn’t my child that was it. These other teachers were insisting that the issues they were blaming on my child had happened to many children before mine and these other children were “pushed out” of the school. I asked the director, susie, if she could talk to me about one of her employees telling me a new teacher was instigating issues for my child, and she basically said she wasn’t sure who my “source” was, but that she didn’t want Lucy to return to school because the school “couldn’t meet our needs.” The entire situation is just atrocious, and I’m so happy to have my daughter back with people who actually care about her well being.
Our family used Teaching Tree in Loveland starting about a year ago, and we have nothing but positive things to say. To start off they were willing and able to accommodate and were supportive of our unique needs so I was also able to work. My daughter LOVED it when it was daycare day. Once COVID-19 restrictions hit, they continued to keep us informed on updates and their future plans and they were ready to support us through online learning. We were sad to have had to leave, but are so thankful for everything that Teaching Tree did for us. They were there when nobody else would.

My daughter has been attending for a couple months now and it has been such a great and comforting experience. She has so much fun.. I absolutely appreciate how much the teachers communicate with each other so they can communicate with me, they are so positive and reassuring when my child’s behavior isn’t always the best. They do their hardest to intervene and redirect my child. Such a great place to bring my child.
