I really enjoyed the animals and I came because I am an animal lover! The way the staff handled the animals seemed very cruel and I felt bad for them. I hope someone does an undercover investigation!!!!!!!!! There was an elderly man attending to the turtles that say “do not touch.” I told my 4 year old son that is for the safety of the turtles because they could be dropped. The man said he doesnt follow rules and to do whatever he wanted except throw the turtle because they have died!!!!!!!!!!!!My son gently pet a turtle but about 2 second later some more rambunctious children came in and were dropping the turtles and play fighting with them! I was schocked! Then when we when to get our passport stamped by all the animals my son was upset because he couldnt see the bob cat. Oh well! The staff is way more into pleasing customers like a circus rather than an animal sanctuary! A female grounds keeper asked my son if he really wanted to see the bob cat and she took a powerful hose and drenched the cat until it came out of hiding! I was so upset by this we left and I gave my son a lesson on what not to do!
I notice a couple of bad reviews I find it very hard to believe. It is an amazing place I went there as a homeschooler. They teach you a LOT and I had a blast my younger sister had also gone and her and her friends LOVED it! Only problem I have see is the fact that river wading and canoeing depends on if the river is high enough. The helpers and leaders are ver knowledgeable. You may not bring sugary drinks. But overall it a very fun and informational experience that j recommend wether you are raised in the city or country.
