I do not recommend academy of Asheville. My grandson attended this place for 2 months. On 3 different occasions upon arriving to pick him for the day, he had deep scratches under his eye. First 2 occasions the teacher said she didn’t see it?!?? Of course we complained and questioned the teacher about not seeing it and how deep the scratches were. I know my grandson cried. Heck I would have cried. We questioned why the little boy wasn’t sent home they replied they asked his parents to cut the little boy’s nails. I questioned why we were not contacted when it happened? So on the third occasion we had some choice words due to no one ever seeing anything, nothing being done about the situation. So they expelled my grandson. Teachers apparently are not watching the children they stated my grandson was not the only one scratch. Do better academy. Children are our future it’s your job to teach, love, and protect!!!!!
My kid started going here in October, we have had this issue 5x times since he has been going here. There was a kid in my sons classroom who kept digging him hands into my sons face and leaving marks where you can see the white skin. We talked to teachers and the owner and asked for them to separate my kid and that kid, or move my kid into another room. The excuse was the kid had a speech impairment and that’s how he shows he wants to play, well I’m sorry we don’t play like that and how is it fair to my kid to get scratched on. It kept happening over and over again until the last time we had to flip because it was close to my sons eye. Instead of fixing the problem they decided to kick my child out of their school because another kid couldn’t kept their hands to themselves. I would never recommended this school to anyone.
The Academy has been such a blessing to our family since my twin children were enrolled there a few years ago. The assurance that the twins are in a safe and clean environment with a reliable and caring staff, as well as seeing how much they are learning and how happy they are, all make dropping them off each day so much easier. The teachers are amazing in how they keep the day structured and balanced. There is also very little turnover, so my children know and feel comfortable with all the teachers and staff. Educationally, I feel the Academy has set my children on the right trajectory to be more than prepared for kindergarten. The Academy is also unique in their flexibility with drop off and pick up, which is great for families with busy or varying schedules each day!
