My 3-year old and 5-year old have both attended The Academy of Young Scholars for approximately the last 2 years. I have seen such an improvement developmentally with them both, and this is a testament to the phenomenal work of the teachers and staff. Each morning we are greeted by Ms. Maria, Ms. Briana, Ms. Helen or Ms. Frances. They always have a smile on their faces and get the kids pumped for a new day. My 5-year old has improved so much with his speech, letter recognition, phonics, math, and social development. My 3-year old has also seen these same benefits. These teachers do an amazing job at not only teaching children, but also genuinely caring for them. As my 5-year old prepares for Kindergarten, Ms. Maria has spent invaluable one-on-one time with him practicing letters, phonics, and other kindergarten curriculum. She truly cares about his success not just at The Academy of Young Scholars, but beyond. Ms. Briana and Ms. Helen do an excellent job in the day-to-day operations of the facility. They stay on top of sending out updates and keeping the facility clean and welcoming. Whenever I’ve had a question, they’re just a text, phone call, or email away. When choosing a Daycare, you want to feel confident that your child is in good hands, and I have felt that way since day one with The Academy of Young Scholars. The teachers are top-notch and the curriculum and outdoor setting have been instrumental in the development of both of my children. I highly recommend the Academy of Young Scholars.
Both of my daughters go to this academy. If you are looking for academic growth, emotional growth and physical growth in your child this is the place to go. The children don’t stay in their seats all day. They have interactive learning with the teachers. The students are outside a lot and the director is a firm believer of her staff participating outside and inside. The director only places the best teachers in front of the kids and holds a higher standard than most public schools. The staff has to be willing to participate outside as well as inside. The kids get to explore the world outside and do hands on activities everyday. My daughters have brought home vegetables that they planted and water everyday. They come home excited to tell me about the cool bugs they saw or the new books they read. Both my daughters are not just getting an education with books but they are receiving and education with the real world. The staff and director work really well with the kids to help them learn how to deal with their emotions. They talk with the students to try and understand why they feel the way they do as well as help the kids learn how to deal with those feelings. This school goes above and beyond my expectations for a daycare and for most schools.
