The Children’s Courtyard in Coppell, TX needs some serious investigation. First off, they make their workers work while having the flu, mono, or the common cold because they are not staffed correctly. Second, there was an incident where 2 workers were caught smoking pot on the property and when reported were not sent to be drug tested, were not suspended or fired, or not written up. They continue to work there and now because the situation was not handled properly are causing trouble for the worker who turned them in. Third, the cook there burnt her hand severely in the kitchen and was told she was fine, she was not sent to the doctor and not given any kind of care by the company. She has a third degree burn and needs a special burn cream so that her hand is not in pain and so that it does not leave a scar. Fourth, there are times when the kitchen is out of something for the children and the management says oh-well; for instance, today there is no milk for the children. The management told the kitchen oh well they can drink water today. Fifth, the company is short staffed, the rooms are over ratio 60% of the time and no one is allowed any time off because they do not have enough workers. Management has threatened the workers that if they take time off, whether sick or not, they will be fired.
We love it here. We have been here for 9 years and all of our kids have gone through all the classes. Our youngest is in the Toddler room now and our oldest is in thier school-age program. They have the best teachers, that are so friendly. We love that thier infant teacher has been there for 11 years and has had all of our kids. This year our middle child is in their dual language pre-k and she is learning so much. She comes home with fun activities to do with us each week. They do amazing activities and the kids are always engaged and learning new things. The school-age progam allows my oldest time to do his homework and he really loves the fun field trips and acitivites planned during the breaks. The younger building does not go on field trips during summer break but they have really cool visitors that come in for the kids. The only bad thing is traffic can get heavy at 4pm from the High School. I highly recommed this daycare!!!!
Leaving your children in someone else’s hands is always a hard thing to do. However, after the first day of drop off I knew we had found the right place. Both of my children have thrived there. My younger in the preschool building and my older in the school age building. The teachers and administrators are truly advocates for your children and love them. My youngest has not always adapted well at daycare but here it was different. He flourished there. The temper tantrums he had developed at his previous day care stopped immediately. He was happier and began to socialize more than ever before. Now he is a sweet outgoing boy who loves to make friends. He knows everyone’s name and gets super excited when he sees anyone from school outside of school. He learns without realizing he is and adored his teachers. My only regret is that we didn’t find them sooner. The Children’s Courtyard in Coppell is the absolute best place.
