I am giving 2 stars because of some of the teachers that taught my 3rd grader and 5th grader, they were very patient and informative when it came to the transition process of online learning during the 20/21 school year. The part that disgusted me the most is the lack of communication between staff and parents. I was able to get my children enrolled due to siblings and other family members who were enrolled, however whenever it was time for staff to communicate with me they reached out to the parents of the siblings, or family members in reference to my children and most times it was personal information. After several times of talking to staff at the Pointe about this, it continued to happen. Another time, my fifth grader came in contact with someone with COVID and the school waited until I was in the car-rider line for pick-up to inform me that my child had been in contact with someone with it,(My child had been there a full day even after staff knew about the exposure early on) the conversation was real brief, and no type of empathy was expressed. After collecting myself I reached back out and asked questions such as, was it a teacher or student, how close, with the staff telling me they were unable to give me that information, until I actually went IN PERSON ( this issue was resolved by informing me of who and apologizing)! Lastly, and the most important is Graduation for my fifth grader, I was informed about graduation through a parent whos child went to the Pointe and was also a fifth grader. She informed me that graduation was on a Saturday and that it was a drive-through graduation. I informed her that I hadnt heard anything about it so I reached out to the school, me and my childs father several times prior to graduation, and the day before graduation (on a Friday after 5pm) I received a call from a staff member at the Pointe telling me my child was retained so he was unable to come to graduation. My child was immediately removed from the school (by me) and I placed him in a summer school program ( the teachers at the summer school reached out several times to the Pointe to release information and they refused) he went faithfully for two weeks, and a couple days later a family member reached out to me telling me my childs report card had been mailed to her house and it says the he passed to the sixth grade. This situation really hurt my child as well as myself, this is a milestone of his life that he will always remember. This brings me to the conclusion of what looks good isnt always good.
This school is the worst school ever. All the good reviews Are from church members and all they do is lie. If your kid is in high school your kid will more than likely have to repeat that year because the teachers can’t teach and there is a lack of teachers so they do online courses that are doing more harm than anything, plus the WHOLE school is disorganized. Just take my word for it. This is a bad school. Its not even a school. Its a furniture store. Why would you send your kid to a furniture store? You are the worst type of parent if you send your kid here, period.
One of the worst schools I’ve ever seen. They change teachers constantly. Math teacher never showed up to teach. They dont let the kids play in the new playground they built. There are no parent meetings. They dont provide text books. They treat parents like trash. If your kid wears the wrong thing on a certain day, he can spend the day on the bench being bullied by the “teachers” Mr Dixion will mess with your kid if he does’nt like him or her. That means they will be excluded from all activities. So send your kid there if you hate them.
