I admit that I was a previous employee unhappy with the job, but this review and the other points I will include in this reply will justify my opinion on this facility. I also admit I wasn’t thinking too much about my review due to my anger but now after thinking and gaining a clear head, I’ve only been able to think of more issues with the facility I was employed at.

First, before I could even start my first day, I was let go. Without proper notice or explanation. The only explanation I was given was “We cannot hire a seasonal worker.” This was due to the fact that I am currently enrolled in college so my classes might have caused conflicts. However, the manager and I agreed that I would arrange my schedule to accommodate my hours. I immediately rearranged my class schedule in order to be able to work full time. Not even 10 minutes into my shift, a coworker received a call from the manager informing me that I had been let go. I left and called the manager about our agreement and the unprofessionalism of how he decided to let me go. He apologized and brought me back on the team once we had an understanding about my schedule.

Next, I was told there was “no rush” on my background check. Though I do not have a criminal record, I can only imagine what could happen if someone with a criminal record did get the job. I was also left alone with kids despite having no background check and even given the keys to open up the building. Keys that they still haven’t asked back for yet. If I had any malicious intent, it would be very easy to do it.

Now about the job itself, it was NOT what I had signed up for. Literally. I applied for the position of teacher assistant, I was hired for the position of teacher assistant, and yet I was given responsibilities of a TEACHER. The responsibilities I were supposed to have was to assist the teacher and help take care of the kids by preparing snacks and such. Instead, as previously mentioned, I was left alone with the kids and responsible for everything. My pay did not reflect this, nor was I even qualified for those responsibilities.

Finally, I DID bring this up to management. No proper solutions were discussed. Instead, the response I got was “What do you want to do then? Put your two weeks in?” At that point I had enough. I quit right then and there.

Any business with negative reviews will try to discredit the reviewer. If you don’t believe me, get in contact with other employees. Either way, this place is not safe or beneficial for kids and employees.

Called to set up a tour, which was then pushed back by the center so many times that it took a literal MONTH to get in for a 5 min tour. Of course with 3 toddlers I was running a bit late (10 whole mins) and called to let her know and was told she would not stay to wait. After reminding her I waited on HER for a MONTH I was given 10 mins of her grace. Now, in that month I have been telling these 3 toddlers about school, how exciting it will be and how much fun they would have so they would be excited to go, since we are d.v. victims and they have never been away from me before I wanted them to be excited for the experience. In that 10 mins they checked the center out and ran around the COMPLETELY EMPTY building as toddlers do. Then the next day was told they “would not accept ” my children bc they ran around and would not so much as put up a small baby gate in the room until they got used to it. My favorite part of all is that NONE of these interactions were with the director. So whoever this person is , is quite rude, honestly should not be working with children if they don’t expect to act like children and has no place telling a parent she would not accept them, when she is not the director and judging CHILDREN so harshly in a 5 minute interaction. I at least wish this place didn’t not take a month of my time pushing meetings back when I could have found somewhere else to bring them in that time. I could just let it go, however I know I check reviews when looking for centers and would not want someone else to be unknowingly put in this same interaction.
love this center very friendly teachers, , they drop off my kids to school, pick them up, feed them, help them with their homework. I also have a 2 years old daughter there as well, it was hard to get her 100% potty trained her teacher helped me through it, now she is 2 1/2 and fully potty trained. I LOVE my kids and I don’t trust NO one with them, But with this ELC I don’t have to worry about keeping my phone out at work. beside teacher I feel like they are their parents too so they know how I fell. I did recommended to friends and families.
