A wonderful, nurturing setting. Our daughter attended The Garden when she was 2 all the way up to reception. She absolutely loved her time here and was heart broken to leave – as were we. The Garden preschool staff are so warm and welcoming, they regularly updated us on her progress. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them.

Thank you for everything – she will always treasure her experiences at The Garden.

We cannot thank you enough for supporting us as a family. Our daughter has thrived in all areas, the nurture, love and care from all staff has been out of this world. She always wants to go to nursery. Being a child who was recently adopted meant we needed to trust 100% in the choice of nursery and we got it right. The best thing about the garden is the staff, she formed secure attachments with everyone and that is down to the family feel you get by being in the nursery. You can feel the care in the air, it’s a special place. The values of what the garden stand for shine through. The communication from Sarah as her key worker has been outstanding. She has kept us regularly informed with progress, via parent meetings, telephone calls and tapestry – she knows our child inside out. Emma always responds to communication promptly and we have felt so informed with the garden news by regular emails, newsletters, Facebook, tapestry and face to face at the door. Thank you everyone. We will miss you and will never forget you x
My child has had a wonderful experience at the garden, he has felt safe, loved and nurtured and we are all a bit sad his time has come to an end. He struggled with his speech when he first arrived, all staff went above and beyond to help him, working along side the speech and language therapist to ensure he was progressing. He leaves a very confident and happy little boy ready to start school.
My daughter thrived at the Garden and developed a huge amount over the year and a bit she spent there. She was always excited in the morning about coming in, and loved many of the setting’s routines, like being able to be the ‘Special Helper’ on some occasions. I feel like she has been really well prepared for school in September. Thank you!
We were hesitant to send our child to preschool initially, but looked around The Garden because we already knew some of the teachers from the ‘stay and play’ group, Pebbles. Our child instantly joined in and started playing, so we decided to try two mornings a week. This quickly increased when we realised how much she was benefiting.

Sensory needs are very common in young children but we didn’t know anything about them until the brilliant SENCO quickly identified some in our daughter, and worked on ways to stop her from becoming dysregulated. We found her insight incredibly helpful for adapting our parenting at home.

Communication between the preschool and parents is very good. Weekly newsletters are informative and I really looked forward to updates on Tapestry, which was used to share more specific stories of our daughter’s activities. There are plenty of opportunities for families to get involved such as days out and visits to the preschool.

Over the months, I’ve seen our child’s relationships with other children flourish. She has begun many new friendships that she will be able to continue developing at primary school and other local activities.

In short, our child’s special educational needs were likely to be a major obstacle when starting school, but because we sent her to The Garden, she will start with children she already knows, a familiarity with a learning environment and teachers who have already prepared for her specific sensory needs. It was the right decision for us and I highly recommend The Garden Preschool for anybody looking for a small, nurturing environment to help their child develop and prepare for school.
