I tried to get into this school but when I went to the interview I was told I did not meet the specific requirements. Apparently it has something to do with my gender, last time I check being a male was a valid gender

great school if you are a female though

My daughter started year 7 here last year and I couldn’t be happier. It is a beautifully kept school with great values that really encourage all the girls to just be fantastic positive and self confident young women. I get kept up to date on everything that is happening with my daughter from her classes and assessments to all of the out of hours activities they offer. For the price of the school you get everything you could possibly want to know you’re going to give your children a head start in life.
I’m a bit shocked at the couple of thoughtless reviews I’ve just read of this school. How very wrong to rate such a lovely school one star on such flimsy grounds! Hence why I’m bothering to try to balance the scales a bit. My step granddaughters are both here and everything I’ve heard has been overwhelming positive. The care and empathy, not to mention excellent teachers, has delighted me and made me realise how very far good boarding schools have progressed. Keep up the good work Glennie’s – it’s very much appreciated.
Hello respected teachers, My name is Fatima Husain I left the school at grade 3 but I still have fond memories of it. The teachers were beyond amazing especially Mrs Fiona Stone.
One of the best teachers I have ever encountered, she was sweet and soft spoken with a air of positivity surrounding her, 15/10 and one of the reasons I am in the accelerated program at school (now in year 7) I am also so happy for the wonderful library they had

(Mrs Meagle might remember me? The little girl rushing into the library the second the bell had rung for recess to either play with lego’s or read a book in the back, the one that got so disappointed when she realized there was a limit on the books one was allowed to borrow? The one reading Hamlet while others picked books on fairies?)

All in all, wish I could go back just to see all the friendly faces and great people I met.
This place was the staple that gave me the confidence to be who I am now, a friendly chatterbox, extroverted individual.
Thank you Glennie for all of your wonderful opportunities. 🙂

It has been a few years since my daughters attended Glennie. The French immersion was one of the best things that Glennie had to offer. One of our daughters attended university in France and was only 20 when she achieved becoming a journalist she went on to work for win and 9. As a reporter she left her job and wrote a book and achieved this before the age of 27. Our other daughter achieved in the art world and drama and now teaches. We are Incredibly proud of our girls and I doubt they would have achieved as much without the French immersion programme offered at Glennie and being grounded at all times. I think that Glennie is the only school in Qld or even Australia offering this programme it’s so unique. I would encourage parents looking for a school where their girls are still grounded but able to speak in two languages and achieve to their best abilities to consider Glennie. I believe it is one of best schools Qld has to offer.
