There were so many issues I faced with this Goddard location. I witnessed one of the infant teachers pulling a baby improperly. I reported it and it took 2 months from me to hear back from someone outside of the school “investigating.” The owners said they understood and “spoke” to the teacher. However, she was still in the same room with infants following that report. Before that incident, I developed a good relationship with the other infant teacher and we seemed to connect and talk during morning drop offs – she was eventually let go of (the same day I reported the other teacher incident). She was told that she was let go of because she was “too friendly with the parents.” As a mother of an infant, relationships are so vital especially when there are no cameras to monitor anything taking place- so this reason to let someone go was shocking and seemed very sketchy to me. When the pandemic started, the school offered options (as far as payment) which was so important and I was grateful for. However, they changed that form of communication during June/July and it was clear that they were a business and money was most important over the safety and well being of children. I eventually decided to pull my baby out of the school because we were paying a holding fee – I was then charged a full months tuition because I “failed to give a 30 day notice per my contract” – I was so blown away that I would get charged such an outrageous fee during such an unprecedented time. I had already collected some of my sons items and sent my husband to pick up remaining items. He was told when he dropped off their check that there were no more belongings. I had to make a 2nd trip out there to pick up an unopened pack of baby wipes as well as some pacifier wipes and a single picture. I actually gave the daycare 2-3 family pictures as it was recommended when we first enrolled -when I went to pick up the photos, I was given 1 and told that the other ones may have gotten messed up while they were cleaning. This is very strange to me as the pictures had been laminated and were hung up high on one of their walls. Had I not asked, I would not have been told. It was clear that they didn’t care and they mishandled our belongings. I would not recommend this Goddard location to parents- especially not when paying $1,540 for tuition. The facility is brand new but it’s not worth it. The owners do not value true feedback. The director and other rep at the front were very cordial and nice -but it’s clear they were not making decisions. The owners are on campus every single day and they run things. Overall, I am beyond disappointed in the Goddard School “name” as I had high expectations based on other Goddard recommendations. I would do your research first and talk to other parents first.
Theirs another post on her about a INFANT teacher pulling a child by the legs. My child was also in that classroom at that time. My husband and I had a great relationship with the main teacher and the day she told us what happened she was let go. We promptly reported the incident to the state as well as the head Goddard. We could tell a difference in when the main teacher was there vs the one mishandling infants. When we left the classroom was always a mess in the afternoon, this teacher let my 7 month old feed herself baby carrots and another time fed her Cheerios (that we didnt send) and when asked said she didnt. We pulled our child out that week. We had another run in with the owner prior to that when she accused us of not getting the proper paper work from our doctor even though we used the forms they provided. It finally escalated into a shouting match between them and my husband one afternoon. We ended up finding a great daycare and have since been joined by one of my childs previous Goddard friends. We were also told by our new daycare we were not the only parents that called them, we just got there first.
Goddard for the most part has a good reputation but dont be deceived by this one.
