Parents & Students Reviews:
The Goddard School of Friendswood has 38 reviews with an overall rating of 4.1. Some reviews have been edited for clarity.
1. They confirmed the price in December when we requested to be skipped from the top of the waitlist because I was very sick and not ready to return to work. Then, they were charging us more than they previously agreed upon.
2. They also told us that we would be able to pay weekly via cash or money order. Then, pretended like this never happened.
3. The daycare we toured last year was not the same daycare we ended up with. The energy went from fun and happy and supportive to making you feel like you were a burden just for existing around them.
4. The owner silently grabbed my daughter in the first 5 seconds of me walking into the hallway by the classroom and “forgot” to let me say goodbye.
5. The infant teacher put my baby to sleep on her tummy and then lied about it. How do I know it was a lie? I asked her by saying, “she’s never slept like that a day in her life?! Did she roll in her sleep?” And was told, “no! She was playing and she got tired and just fell asleep so we left her like that!” Then, the owner tells us that she discussed it with the teacher who said she rolled while playing and then immediately again after being put down for her nap. If they aren’t lying, why is their story changing?
Number 5 didn’t exactly injure or even seriously endanger my baby. But number 5 is against the law, not to mention Goddard policies. For some babies, number 5 would be endangering a baby. Not to mention, they took a picture of it and sent it to me. If this is how they handle day 1 of taking care of my daughter, what else will they do?
I posted my original Google review on Facebook. It brought a bunch of other parents forward going on and on about their own experiences with this daycare. So please, look for it. If I’d have known about those situations, this wouldn’t have been the daycare we chose to enroll our baby in in the first place.
The time I had my child here the teacher changed with very short notice.
You won’t get to know the teachers at all and if anything they will not be pleasant to see you at drop off. I had to schedule a meet and greet thru the front desk to get to know the teacher. During the meet I learned she knew very little on my child.
They say that there are two teachers to a class but the second teacher I never saw at drop off and while they do have two, it would be reassuring to parents to see both teachers present at drop off.
Wasn’t a fan of not being able to pick up your child from the classroom. Also, not having cameras in a classroom for just the front desk managers to view is in my mind absurd.
My child had a high number of incidents here. And I can tell you that what they wrote on the paper and what they say to you are two different things. And they can argue with me on that all they want but I know something wasn’t right when I had three in one week. It’s also not the teacher that will tell you but the front desk. So the teacher will tell the front desk people to tell you what happened, good luck if you have questions because of course they won’t know. My child still has a deep scar on his cheek from this place and they never know what exactly happened but they blamed most on him. He’s never hurt himself at a child care facility or at home. Most of his incidents were of scratches on his body.
At the time my child came here he was delayed some in his speech, so he was unable to tell me certain things. Towards the end of his stay here he was able to tell me more. I learned he did not like it here because he said they were mean and sad here.
This wasnt my child’s first experience at a daycare or child care but the experience here was not one I’d recommend.
And just be aware that some of there “good” reviews on here are from their own employees.
