The Goddard School of Rancho Cordova has been absolutely AMAZING with our son. We had previously put him in a Montessori school (I’m not going to say the name) because he was so advanced with his language, counting, and other basic skills… but the Montessori school was not accommodating to his energy level and amount of physical activity he needed, and did not do well with teaching social skills – we were told he should learn that on his own. The Goddard School was recommended to us by a teacher that works there, and we were lucky enough that there was a spot open in Preschool 1 last January. The teachers have all been great, the curriculum is great and allows students to learn together, but at their own pace, and best of all he has learned great social skills! And being born 2 weeks before the covid lockdown, he definitely needed to improve his social skills! It was also the first time he felt comfortable enough to nap at school, the Montessori school believed the children should go lay down and sleep by themselves if they were tired – HAH! The Goddard School has a designated nap time after lunch where they lay out cots and the children’s blankets, and they dim the lights and play calming music. My son gets the sleep he needs, even if he might not nap every day, now that he is older, it is still “rest” or “quiet” time for the kids who don’t take a nap. He is now in Preschool 2 and loves his teachers and friends. He used to cry and beg not to be taken to his old Montessori school, and now he LOVES school, sometimes he doesn’t want to go home! While all kids need something different, especially the younger ones, I feel that this school does an excellent job of managing and supporting their children and communicating with the parents through the app and daily reports with pictures. And the brand-new facilities that the school moved into earlier this year is amazing and beautiful, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to send our son, and our daughter will be starting sometime next year. We LOVE you Goddard Rancho!
I was hired to work at this location, as an educator, Last week. It was beautiful at this school. My face lit up when I seen their 21/2 to 3 years old classroom. I immediately was offered a position and hired the next day. Literally the next day, I got approved for my first house, so I couldn’t start on the 30th anymore, I had to start on the 6th, so that I could move in. I was supposed to start orientation last Friday. I was dressed and up on my way, when I received a call last Friday, from one of the directors to not come because they were to busy with the day to do orientation and a regular school day at the same time. They said they would call me Monday to reschedule. Tuesday (today), I received a call from Goddard, and it was to rescind (no longer go forward), with the offer. The director called and said “Best of luck to you”, without explanation. I asked “you no longer need educators? Their reasoning “we can’t accommodate a 7-4”. Their reasoning was a blatant lie. My schedule was discussed during the interview and I was hired after my schedule was discussed. Sacramento mistreats the best of EDUCATORS, but they hire TEACHERS all day, (there’s a difference), and wonder why their school system has the current outcome it does. Sacramento as a whole, does not deserve educators. We are being mistreated all around by the educational system, and Sacramento does much harm to educators on a daily. If you want security in employment, and appreciation, this may not be the option as a true educator.
My daughter attended this school for over a year, we absolutely loved the first year, her class was the toddler class. Once she entered 2 and up class things went south. The classroom was too big and the children were neglected. A child named Broadie was a menace and abused the students. We were lied to by the staff, I brought up my concerns to the Director (Missy) she assured me the student was being worked with and that they would take special care of my daughter. The following day I arrived and found that my daughter had a 103 degree temp, nobody notified me they just layed her on a couch in the back of the room. Two students got staff, my daughter was always sick, had multiple rashes from them not helping her wipe, she was dehydrated due to neglect and they lied to my wife and I regarding her safety. I have emails from the director stating they asked my daughter about incidents on days she was home with me. Liars, way over priced for the quality of service. Don’t trust this facility. A shame really, as we loved the first class she was in and felt she did get the proper care.
