Choosing a daycare is one of the toughest decisions you make as a parent. My husband and I looked at a number of daycares in the area, and the Goddard school stood out above the rest. Since our children have started there, we could not be happier. First, the teachers are fantastic! They prepare fun, educational, and physical activities for the kids each and every day, at every age. The communication about our children’s progression is great. As another parent noted, my son was barely speaking when he started at Goddard, and now he has so much to say! The teachers were supportive along the way, communicating what he was struggling with and letting us know when he improved, and really sharing in the excitement when he began successfully communicating. We also have a daughter in the infant room, and the teachers took extra care to send updates and pictures on that first day (which is always the hardest!). Second, the school directors and owner are wonderful. We started daycare during one of the most challenging times, in Fall 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was still very much a concern. The owner has handled every aspect of the COVID-19 pandemic with care and concern and was upfront and honest in every situation, all in an effort to keep our children safe, healthy and happy. The school directors are there at the front door, smiling and welcoming our children every morning, and it’s clear that they know and love each child that comes through the door. Last but not least, for our outdoor loving toddler boy, the outdoor playground area is the BEST around. There is so much space to run and play, and the kids go outside every single time the weather permits. My son often comes home with dirt on his jeans and big smile on his face. As a mom, there is nothing better than seeing that my children are happy every day when I drop them off and pick them up!
I am so thankful that we found The Goddard School! Before The Goddard my little guy was in an in home daycare. After a few shorts months we knew the fit just wasn’t right for him, but I was hesitant to put him in a ‘corporate daycare’. After my very first visit to The Goddard I was feeling amazingly at ease and rather excited to make the switch! My son started in the infant room at 7 months old, and we have been there for 2 months. I cannot say enough good things about the school or curriculum. My little guy is just as happy at school as he is at home… and we couldn’t say that before! I know that he is being well cared for by everyone that spends time with him, and he is experiencing more than thought possible at that age… sign language, yoga, arts and crafts, activities that build fine motor skills and large motor skills, socialization, etc. A big thank you to all the teachers who engage with the infants…. I never thought I would feel so at ease sending my baby to school to be cared for by someone else (yes, I am THAT mom) But, I do. The teachers genuinely care for their students, and I feel as if we are a team. I look forward to seeing the wonderful things that my son will learn and do in the years to come at The Goddard School.
