My nephew’s graduation ceremony was today. What should have been one of the best days of his life turned on to be a miserable experience. He walked on stage to receive his diploma and to his surprise there wasn’t one. I think I heard a comment,”did he pay for his cap and gown?” I am familiar with college graduation ceremonies , and even the school I attended gave you a diploma cover at the ceremony and you received the actual diploma later, after the school confirms there are no outstanding balance owed. Anyway, this didn’t matter because they lost the diploma. It may have been mailed to the wrong person. In addition at the earlier symposium, every graduate was to receive a personal video of some sort. They ran out or something and all but 12 students, including my nephew didn’t receive one. I am trying to ignore the negativity in connection with charter schools. After all his sister atteneded The Charles School, another charter school and her ceremony held at Ohio Dominican was very professional and went off without a hitch. But it does go to show that something s are better left to those who know what they are doing. If you can’t do something right then don’t do it. Thanks for ruining his day.
Honestly it’s an alright school, though it’s massively gone down hill recently. Many of the best teachers have left and the student body seems to be collectively getting worse with each passing year. That said it still manages to be superior to Columbus’ public schools, not that there’s a high bar there.
Our family couldn’t be happier with The Graham School. We’ve only experienced dedicated and caring staff and teachers. Students get a more wholistic approach to their education. My kids appreciated the non-authoritarian atmosphere. It’s like a family.
