The teaching staff are all professional and great care is taken to ensure safe and proper practice. The studios are spacious and clean as are the dressing rooms. Classes are for all ages. The adult classes of Ballet, Tap Contemporary and Stretch are fun and everyone is encouraged to work to their ability. I am 70 and am not the oldest in class, but enjoy the classes I do at the studio to keep fit, mobile and catch up with friends. I can highly recommend The Hastings Stage Studio.
Amazing!!! I used to perform when I was younger but had been out of action for about 18 years when I signed up for Robin Hood. Oh my gosh, what a pleasure! I had the best time and was so proud to be part of it.

John & Vanessa were so welcoming and did so much to help build my confidence back up and bring the best out in me. The classes & rehearsals were so well managed, and taught me so much. I enjoyed myself so much that I’ve signed up for another show & am looking to start singing lessons in the new term 🙂

On top of that, what an incredible bunch of people!!! Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and talented, it was a privilege to be part of such an amazing team.

Anyone who is considering joining, please give it a go. It will do so much for you & as well as learning about performing, it’ll teach you some great skills for life!

Both my eldest and middle child attend the Hastings stage studio and I have always found it to be a welcoming and friendly place.

One thing I particularly like about it is the sense of community and camaraderie amongst the students. An attitude of trust and responsibility is nurtured within the students and a wide array of classes are offered taught by lovely and experienced staff providing a broad and rounded experience.

Examinations are encouraged but not compulsory and students are regularly offered the opportunity to perform with the level of production always outstanding.

I highly recommend the Hastings stage studio to anyone wanting to expose their children and young people to the arts or to develop their confidence and intrapersonal skills.

I joined the studio last year and have loved every moment of being there. Having been a professional dancer over ten years ago, I never thought I’d have the chance to perform again since changing career & having babies, until I found out about the amazing adults classes offered here. I was even given the opportunity to be part of their fantastic production show, which was such a great experience. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging, it really is like a big family. Whether you’ve danced before or not, there’s a fun class for you. No matter your experience, you’ll get so much out of these classes.
One word! Transformative. My son Luca, started at The Hastings Stage Studio at aged 6 years old, and grew in to the most confident, yet well rounded and wonderful young man. Luca was with the Studio for many years. With the professional specialist academic support of John and Vanessa Pohlhammer. And the founder Anne ( Slacke). They nurtured Luca, and treated him as one of their own, and he enjoyed attending classes ranging from Acting, singing, dancing. And in Lucas own words his time at The Hastings Stage Studio was “the best fun ever, and made friends for life”.
