I have 2 kids enrolled at the kings academy and a toddler in their daycare. My kids will not be attending this school next year. They raised tuition cost claiming that more kids are attending and they are expanding. However being apart of this school for 3 years and it actually has declined in numbers of students. Which means their imagination is the only thing expanding. The principle, Ms. Irene is the worst person you will ever come across. This school is suppose to be Christian based faith however Ms. Irene is the devil! She once bullied my oldest with another teacher over because I asked him to have his teacher call me to set up a simple sit down to discuss his progress in class. I came to pick up my kids an my son told me that Ms. Irene called him out of class with his teacher and confronted my son as to why I am requesting a meeting with his teacher, do I have a problem with the way she teaches!?!. My son said he had his head down the whole time and said nothing to either of them and I had to call and ask Me. Irene and his teacher what in the world were they thinking anything my son like that without me present!?! She didn’t justify her actions. Then another parent said that they were late with tuition for the 1st since being there for 2 years and Me. Irene harassed her daughter about it in the hall way while her friends stood there without any consideration. Things like that should be handled discreetly with the child’s parent and should never be addressed to the child. This school can teach about God all day long but their actions are Satan! Horrible principle and it’s obvious thus school is more money based than Christ based! ****FRAUD ALERT**** SEND YOUR CHILDREN ELSE WHERE!!! people choose this academy because they’re the cheapest private in town, but once they became the same price as everywhere else no will come here!
This is a great elementary school! They offer a top notch education at a great value. Classes are small with 8-12 students per class, and teachers really gets to know each student. I like that they are not teaching to common core. Instead they use Abeka curriculum, which is more advanced than the Washoe Country standards. Students receive a very high quality education. The teachers will also offer free tutoring if needed. The principal and teachers are really dedicated and loving. There isn’t any discipline problems at the school and the children are taught morals. I also like that the children wear uniforms and that they offer a free uniform exchange. My kids really like the daily bible class and weekly chapel. They also offer PE, music, art, computers and Spanish classes.Before/after care and camp programs are offered through the attached preschool. I am so happy that both of my children attend this school!
The Kings Academy has been a blessing to my daughter and our family. From the teachers to the curriculum, we couldn’t be more pleased. I remember when I attended my daughter’s kindergarten orientation and the teacher made a statement that all the students would be reading at the end of the year. Sure enough, they all were reading and I remember being so impressed and proud of my daughter.
I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the best grounded education for their children.
