This place is a joke. The director Mikaela doesn’t know how to do billing or read the billing. Several times we won’t know what to pay. We just pulled our child due the to conditions of the class room on a daily/morning basis. We recently picked up our child who was soaked in their pants and was already beginning to dry. Mikaela was informed immediately and also agreed that my child must have been in that condition for some time. The next day she stated that the kids were playing outside and they just hadn’t got to change him yet. We have picked up our child with a shoe missing and now his stuffed animal is gone that he USED for comfort due to medical conditions that cause him pain. The first day it was gone, we asked our son where it was at and he walked to the trash can, which made us think they threw it away because they teacher made the comment “maybe its time he gets rid of it.” Then followed up with how her child who is in the same room as mom, has her stuffed animal. They supposedly looked for it but then sent us an email saying in the handbook no stuff animals are permitted. But yet several kids have them. If they can’t keep track of one kids stuffed animal the size of a basketball, what makes you think they can care for a child.Parents who work at the location can have their own children in their rooms causing favoritism which has been witness on numerous occasions by myself and other staff. Those concerns where brought to their attention with nothing being done. Several times I have picked my son up without speaking to a teacher or seeing one. You litterally can go outside and take your kid and not speak to a single adult in charge. If you can do it, so can others. We didn’t not feel that this place was fit to care for our child anymore. And now that we have left they are sending us another bill for a totally different amount than what we have ever paid. Again they can’t get that right. Several things to be very concerned about as a parent.
As someone who has worked here for 3 years, I do not advise sending your child here. Management is very quick to defend and enable staff and their dangerous behavior, even when it comes to harming children. For instance, a staff brought a vape to work 3 days in a row and left it in reach of children. On the third day, they were put on leave instead of being fired, and there is a possibility they could come back and be around children. On another instance, a staff member said they purposely overheat bottles to burn infants mouths. Again, no disciplinary action took place. When I brought these concerns to management, they became frustrated with me and punished me with no lunch break. When parents bring their own concerns to them, the most they do is talk poorly on the parents to all of the staff. Its very sad to see after loving my job for 3 years to see the enabled abuse take place at this center. Again, do not send your children here.
My wife and I toured the Learning Grove Academy upon the arrival of our first born in April. The building was in the middle of a lot of change, and we werent sure what to expect. We soon found out that all of the change happening was for the better, and we quickly knew that the Learning Grove Academy was the right choice for us. Carissa and Emily are the standouts for our daughter, but everyone in the building is fantastic. There is no better feeling than bringing in our daughter, and she lights up at the sight of the wonderful teachers in dreamers 1. She is in the middle of transitioning to dreamers 2, and they are equally as amazing. We are very happy we chose the Learning Grove Academy, and we are extremely thankful for the amazing staff and teachers!
