A fantastic acting school. It’s challenging and the teachers will push you outside of your comfort zone, but literally everyone in class left as a better actor than they were when they started. What set the school apart from others I’ve taken classes at was the exercises of relaxation and sensory work (method classes are four hours long and you’ll spend roughly half of that time doing these exercises). At first, I found these practices awkward, uncomfortable, and even tedious, but over time as things “clicked” I realized they were even more valuable than running scenes. I also really loved that the teachers here are way more critical, direct, and observant than at other schools I’ve taken classes at since. I attended Strasberg using GI Bill benefits, and I would highly recommend the school for any veteran who wants to get into acting. Also, I think anyone can still audit a method class for free (most teachers will let you participate in sensory and relaxation too) so if you’re curious give it a try.
Oh my goodness, I don’t even know where to begin.
I first heard about Lee Strasberg Institute from a girl that was visiting Hawaii when I was there as well. She had such wonderful things to say about the school- that it just made me feel so excited&inspired to see what the school was all about. After researching it, I fell in love with the method. Attending the school was the best thing to ever happen to me. I have met some of the kindest, coolest people, who have helped me grow and learn in ways I only used to dream of. Forever grateful for this beautiful place. And it will forever be a part of my heart<3!
The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute has been the best acting school I’ve ever been to and the best choice I’ve made for myself and my career. At the institute, you will find yourself at home in a sea of inspiring creatives, amongst faculty, students and teachers that will change your perspective on art for life and contribute to the quest of finding your own instrument within.
